I am so sad I have already lost a diamond from my engagement band. I noticed it last night and immediately proceeded to comb the entire apartment (thankfully it’s a small place) with no luck. We are going in today and hopefully they will replace it for me since it is under warranty. The sad thing is, I haven’t gotten it insured yet 🙁
Have any other bees with small side stones had problems with theirs falling out?
Here is what my ring looks like:

Beautiful ring! So sorry you already lost a stone. 🙁
I haven’t had that happen but plenty of people I know have so it’s pretty common. My warranty would cover any lost stones so if yours does then the insurance might not matter much at this point but it’s good to have for anything that might happen in the future.
My coworker actually lost stones in her ring so many times she gave up, put them aside for her daughters one day and had her husband buy her a “fake ring” to wear day to day. She blames her natural clumsiness for that one.

I had one fall out of my wedding band the other day. My jeweler replaced it that day. They replace them free of charge for life. They said its common for pave to fall out from time to time, especially when it’s rubbing up another ring (which my wedding band obviously does). I never had any issues when I just had my pave e-ring though.

Your ring is gorgeous! So sorry to hear that you lost a stone. One of my best friends has a thick, pave band and she has lost stones numerous times.

@Missknicole: My wedding band arrived less than 2 hours before the wedding, and lost a stone a few hours after that. Your warranty should cover it.

I lost a stone around 10 months after getting the ring. The place that we bought the ring from is…..not the best and made us pay but it was a small amount (40 bucks).

The occasional stone falling out is an issue with pave settings. There is such a small amount of gold holding the diamond in. Even if you don’t hit it against anything, things like digging through your purse or at work, that contact can cause diamond to fall out. See what your warranty covers, some don’t cover new stones.

@Aquaria: Wow! What a horror story!

@ceebree: that’s what happens with pave. They replaced the entire ring at no extra cost. Zales has a good warrantee.

I had a pave ring that lost a small stone. No big deal. I took it back, the jeweller fixed it and viola -no more issues. All of my other pave rings (I have a number of them) have never lost a stone and I wear them constantly. Don’t worry – all will be fine.

yes! I have a micro pave halo with diamonds everywhere. I have already lost 2 small stones within 2 months of being engaged. Jared gave me one of the tiny side diamonds but refused to set them. So now I have 2 small missing diamonds and 1 loose diamond in the glove box of my car.

@Lily_of_the_valley: why did they refuse to set it? It sounds ridiculous to hand out melee diamonds snd not set them. Do they expect you to send your ring back to Neil Lane?

@letigre: Who knows. I am so sick of Jared and their ridiculous “policies”. They voided our warranted because we had another jewler set my center stone. So we are basically on our own

@Lily_of_the_valley: ugh that is awful they won’t fix it for you 🙁 Those strict warranties are awful. That ring is fantastic though!
@Aquaria: Wow! Talk about timing! Thankfully you at least had the band for your wedding.
Ben Bridge said they will replace mine for free for one year, and after that I have to pay for them to set a new stone, but they’ll supply the stone for free as long as I get it inspected by them twice a year. Time to put a bi-yearly reminder on my phone, ha.
