Hello fellow bees!
Firstly to start, I am not engaged [yet]. I’m hoping that is coming soon. I have a dress that I got for free that isn’t quite finished. It was a sample dress that wasn’t completed and it was free, so I could definitely make it work if I it cleaned thoroughly and rough edges finished. My free dress looks like this
Today a fellow bee and best friend of mine from college went to a bridal shop near where we are living because said bridal salon is doing a 25 day give away for December and who doesn’t want free bridal stuff, whether it be a bling tee or bling underwear or what have you. I went in only to enter the drawing. Upon entering my friend stopped & said “Come here”. I told her I wasn’t there to look, but I did anyways and they had the dress that I have had in my head for a few months now. The Mori Lee 1851
And even though I didn’t want to try it on, I HAD to…and I almost cried. I couldn’t allow myself to have that special moment because I am not engaged yet and I obviously want my mom to be there for THE DRESS. But my friend told me she had to refrain from obsenities because she was so excited & she took photos so I shall share them with you all!

I’m kind of concerned with how much it will cost to get the first dress cleaned and finished and maybe altered. I’m not putting it out of the running by any means. I definitely want an October wedding.

Just look at your face in the Mori Lee 😀 You look SO happy! It is truly stunning on you.

I think both dresses are beautiful and you should get the one you love. That being said, I’m a big believer in not buying a wedding dress until you’re actually engaged. You are planning a wedding that is years away. Not trying to burst your bubble, but you will likely change your mind on things in the next few years. Stuff happens- I thought I wanted a fall/winter wedding in 2012 with a silk satin dress and a military deployment changed all of of my plans. Keep the free dress you have now, get engaged, and then start planning your wedding. If you still love dress #2 (which is beautiful!) or find a newer dress that you love even more, sell the free dress.

Thank you =}
I didn’t put any money down on it, because I don’t want to jinx it. & I know you’re right I should try on more than one just to make sure. Thank you for your advice!

Is the Mori Lee the only one you tried on? I would definitely recommend waiting until you’re engaged and going in to try on more dresses (or not.. go now.. haha!). You just never know!
