niki1983 :   We got to implant one “perfect” one that had become a blast. The other two weren’t there and are left in their dishes to keep trying but RE didn’t seem too hopeful for them but she was thrilled with the one we put in. I just have to wait until 7/25 for my preg test!

niki1983 :  Did you do all of this at your RE’s office? I think my RE said the first 6 weeks of preg are with the REs and then you graduate to the normal Ob/gyn, is that standard I wonder? Remind me did you test or do  FT?

vintagekitten :  It depends on your clinic and your insurance.  My clinic and insurance allows me to stay with the RE until 12 weeks.

niki1983 :  I’m touch and go.  I was fine Thursday-Saturday but then pretty gross Sunday and today.  Hoping things improve each week.  I’m going on vacation in 2.5 weeks.  I’m worried about being sick and not enjoying myself.  I couldn’t get out of bed yesterday. 🙁

niki1983 :   vintagekitten :   MrsBG :   islabride2016 :  4DP and I am getting NOTHING on my tests. Please tell me I am being psychotic. I’m worried my embabie isn’t okay, they had to unfreeze her in record time (no joke like 20min). They were running behind. They told me I had a “beautiful” embryo, with 100% thaw rate. She looks really packed though.. they said it’s because the cells gather when they are frozen. Please tell me it will be okay!

Excited To Bee :  That is a beautiful embaby! You should see the picture of my rag-tag bunch 😉 So this would be considered a 5 day transfer, right? I think it’s still too early!

Here’s what happens to the Day 5 embryos ( blastocysts) after their transfer is complete.

  • Day 1 – After the embryos are transferred, the cells keep dividing. The blastocyst begins to emerge from its shell and this process is called hatching.
  • Day 2 – The second day is crucial because this is the time when the embryo begins to attach itself to the uterine lining. The blastocyst continues to grow.
  • Day 3 – On this day, the blastocyst invades into the uterine lining and implantation begins. The woman may have light bleeding and spotting on this day
  • Day 4 – On the fourth day, the blastocyst continues dig deeper into the uterus Light bleeding and spotting may continue on this day as the embryo invades the endometrial blood vessels to nourish itself through the maternal blood supply. However, the absence of any bleeding, cramping and spotting does not mean that implantation has not occurred so don’t let your mind play games with you.
  • Day 5 – On the fifth day, implantation is considered complete. The embryo is developing vigorously.
  • Day 6 – The growing embryo triggers the release of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) into the blood stream. This is a hormone that is produced by the syncytiotrophoblast, the specialised cells which will form the placenta later on
  • Day 7 – The fetal development is in full swing and the embryo continues to develop quickly. As the placenta begins to take shape, it continues to release more hCG into the blood stream
  • Day 8 – More hCG is released into the blood, as fetal development continues and the placenta begins to function.
  • Day 9 – By this time, the levels of the hormone hCG, are high enough in the blood stream to be detected. You may take a home pregnancy test today. If the test is negative, it could still be a false negative. Wait for another two days and take the test again. The blood test for beta HCG is much more relaible and is usually done about 10 -12 days after blastocyst transfer.

I’m 6dp3dt now. I’m going to try not to test until the day before my Beta, just to prepare myself for bad news. Step away from the sticks!!

Excited To Bee :  way too early to test. What kinds of tests are you using. Wondfo was the first to show up for me. FRER took two days after wondfo.
