@happybee15:  Congratulations! I’m a week behind you at 6+4 after a successful transfer. This was one of the questions I meant to ask at my last appointment but getting to see and hear the heartbeat was an amazing surprise and I forgot to ask. I go back this Friday for my last ultrasound at the IVF Center before graduating to my OBGYN so I will find out then!

My IVF coordinator said to expect to take progesterone and estradiol for the first 10 weeks of pregnancy. I plan on switching to the progesterone cream if my transfer is successful because that many shots sounds unbearable.

I took estradiol and PIO injections until 8 weeks, then stopped the estrogen altogether and swtiched to just endometrin suppositories for weeks 8-10, then nothing thereafter.  The suppositories were awful, I would have preferred to keep going with the PIO shots (though my butt muscles were happy for the break!).

I had a fresh transfer and did not take estrogen at all.

@happybee15:  congrats! I’m about a week ahead of you at 8w5d.  When I graduated from my RE they gave me a wean down schedule for my meds. I’m on estrogen patches and pio, I reduce estrogen patches at 10 weeks and stop at 11 weeks, and I stay on pio until 12 weeks.
