MissKristi :  Nope, my husband had given at least 8 samples -sperm analysis plus 7 samples for IUI and IVF and nobody caught it. His numbers were fine. But, when given an DNA fragmentation test which is a specialized sperm analysis, his numbers of damaged sperm were off the charts bad. He needed surgery to correct. I’m not saying this is your issue here, but it’s worth exploring. Also, did they do ICSI? Our clinic does it automatically but not all do. Your chances of fertilization are much higher using ICSI.

I understand your stress and frustration. But do not put any more pressure on yourself for blaming your body for not producing more eggs. Your body is only supposed to produce 1 egg/month so your body is already do more than it was designed for. It can be easy to forget that part.

Just wanted to say hi to everyone. We had our planning meeting today and I’ll start my first round of IVF in March! Are there any other good boards/posts to follow for support?

MissKristi :  I’m glad you were able to do a second round. How were your results compared to the first? We finished our 4th retrieval/fresh transfer (transfer failed) round in April. We are doing our first ever FET tomorrow. I am cautiously optimistic because we’ve never had any embryos make it to freeze before.

MissKristi :  That is a great response! I also did terrible on birth control, estrogen priming was much better! Fingers crossed for 3+ healthy embroys! We’re transferring 1. My doctor wanted to do 2 but I’m terrified of it not working and losing 2/3 of my embryos since we only have 3. I’ve already done 4 retrievals and reaaaaaaaally want to avoid doing a fifth. So, I said one this time and we’ll reassess doing 2 during next transfer if we have to.
