There probably is no difference at all.  Or at least, no difference that anyone but you will notice.

Ivory tends to have the slightest yellow tinge, making it a “warm” shade, where diamond white or pure white is definitely a “cool” shade.

I am curious to see what it looks like.

I got a veil that was a little lighter than my dress and was told that I should do it that way…I think it will look fine!

It really depends on the designer. You won’t know until they are side by side. I was worried my veil would be too white because it was a lighter Ivory than my dress but it worked out fine. I just hate the look of a bride in a creamy ivory dress with a stark white veil.

From the pictures that you posted, I think they would look good together.

My dress is ivory, I bought a light ivory veil and it’s perfect! The ivory veil looked a bit too ‘warm’ to me.

I think your dress and veil will look beautiful!

In my opinion veils should always be lighter, they look so stunning against the dresses!  My dress is nude/champagne with an ivory overlay and my veil is a light ivory color for this reason.

A few photos to show you what I mean (and remember that the color difference will be much more subtle with your ivory dress and light ivory veil):

See how these dresses would look a bit odd with veils the exact same color (might not be true in your case since ivory is so light anyway) or if the veils were darker?

MrsTywinLannister:  Wow that is so helpful! I have a really weird color wedding dress. It is darker than ivory but not quite champagne. It’s called alabaster ivory so I’ve been stressing over a veil color as well! Thanks for the post!
