I am wearing an ivory gown, the bridesmaids are wearing dark purple dresses….I wanted the guys to wear kakhi or tan tuxes…do you think the groom should wear the same or go darker or lighter? I also found some chocolate suits I like, but I feel like that is to dark with the purple dresses….. It is an August wedding….
Thanks for the help!

What time is your wedding? If it is formal than I suggest your guys wear the classic black tuxes. It’s classy and will great in any pictures. If your wedding is outside during the day they could wear tan suits. I don’t think I have ever seen a tan tuxes. You could have them wear dark charcoal great suits. Suits are really popular now, but they aren’t for everyone. My wedding is at night so it is a very formal wedding so the guys will be wearing black tuxes. I wouldn’t base it on your bm dresses, bm’s wear light, dark colors and dark suits/tuxes are still worn by the guys. Good Luck

My dress is ivory, Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses are a goldish yellow. Originally I wanted chocolate brown tuxes but decided that since my wedding is in June, that might be really hot. We ended up deciding on suits from Men’s Warehouse that way the groomsmen and groom could keep them when they are done. They are all wearing a light brown/tan suit. Wait for a sale like 50% off suits or buy one get one free. We (the groomsmen) got ours for an excellent deal! Good Luck.

I’m wearing an ivory dress. My bridesmaids are wearing eggplant (deep purple). My groomsmen are wearing classic black with (probably) black ties and then purple/fuchsia boutonnieres and my fiance is going to wear classic black same as the guys but will have a ivory boutonniere that matches my bouquet. My wedding is at 3:30 on January 16th. It’s pretty formal but I personally don’t think the look will look too dark. And you will POP in the pictures!! 🙂
