So, I have ordered my dress in ivory. I will have my Fiance in an ivory shirt, and the groomsmen as well. My wedding is at the Iberostar resort in Mexico, so my control over the decor is not completely in my hands. They use white linins and chair covers…. should this be a concern? I am kind of wishing i had just ordered my dress in white now. I dont want it to look bad against the white decor! Any words of advice? Am i being crazy for being concerned about this?

I know EXACTLY how you feel – except I’m opposite.
Our linens will be ivory, and my dress will be white.. it DID bother me for awhile, but I think its just one of those little details that brides get all worked up about, but nobody else really notices!

i think it’s one of those things us brides stress over and other people don’t notice! Honestly, I think it’ll be fine

don’t spend another minute worrying about this. I had decore that was a mixture of white and ivory and it’s practically indistinguishable.

Literally no one is going to care.

Don’t worry! It honestly is not a thing that people notice, not to mention there are so many shades of ivory and white, that they might end up being closer than you think! If anything, it will just make you pop more!

I had exactly the same problem!! ivory dress and white linens and drapes throughout the venue.. so I decided to add cream accents as well hah – all the off whites will look good imo. My other main colour is navy

@Blushingbella: yes you are being crazy lol! There’s no rule stating that the clothing has o match the decor. Don’t spend another moment thinking about it.

You wont even be able to tell. In pictures, or in real life.

No one will notice.. you won’t be lying across the tablecloths. And even if you were – you’re the bride! Your dress is allowed to not match the decor lol.

So not a problem. For reals. 🙂

OMG, I never thought about that. My dress is ivory and the tablecloths are white. I am thinking though of getting some nice black linen napkins. I think it will make the tables look nicer. I will have white and pink candles on the tables and everywhere else where i can place candles.

No one has ever come back from a wedding complaining that the table cloths didn’t match the brides dress, groom outfit.
No one cares. I couldn’t even tell you what colour the table cloths were at any wedding I’ve ever attended.

No one will notice.. but even if they do, they won’t care.. I mean there is nothing unmatching about shades of ‘white’ so you don’t have to worry about anything ‘clashing’
