Plain and simple…my dress is ivory with a champagne sash and the linens that my venue provides only come in white. My budget is getting tight as we get closer, and I’m trying not to spend any unnecessary money so I’d rather not go out and buy/rent ivory linens. Of course, the saying that the bridal industry has put in my head is that “The white linens will make my ivory dress look dirty!” I feel like this is a crock, but I also don’t know for sure! 🙂 My centerpieces are also ivory and gold paper rosettes with peacock feather accents and they’ll be sitting up on a wooden platform in the center of the table.
Has anyone else had experience with wearing an ivory dress alongside white linens? What was your experience? I’d love to see pics! 🙂

I honestly don’t think there will be a single person at the wedding who even notices that the linens are white and you’re wearing ivory. You are thinking too much into it.

@SweetMelissa429: my dress is ivory and champagne and our linens are white…didn’t even consider another color! Honestly how much are you going to be sitting down anyways??

@SweetMelissa429: Your lighting will prob be dim in your reception right?
I had white linens and my dress was ivory……pretty sure no one even noticed!

Plus, white and ivory are often paired together now, so even if anyone did notice it would not be a big deal.

No one will notice – but it would drive me bananas if I were in your shoes so I totally get why you’re concerned.
But seriously… don’t spend money on those linens – it’s totally unneccesary!

@SweetMelissa429: It will look fine and more importantly it will all photograph white.

I wouldn’t worry about it. There’s no rule that says you need to match your venue!

I’m honestly not concerned, necessarily, as much as I just wanted to get another perspective on it. I have never really paid attention to those kinds of details at other weddings, but I know that there are people who are much more conscious of things like that. Plus, I’m already planning on renting chairs to replace the absolutely hideous ones that our venue has (seriously like something straight out of the 70’s!), and they only come in white so I figured I just go with white tablecloths. Then that little voice of doubt started whispering in my ear, so thank you ladies for helping me tell it to shut up! 🙂

I don’t think anyone will really pay attention to the 2 different whites
