I’m looking into buying linens (instead of renting, trying to save some bucks and re-sell!) and wondering if ivory napkins will go with white garden chairs. Haven’t decided the color of the tablecloths yet- I’d love to be able to get overlays in a dusty rose or maroon color. If so, then only the bottom layer, and the napkins, would be ivory. I like ivory better than white, generally, but I’m wondering if this would make the garden chairs stick out as white-white?
(Oh, and ‘m not into spending hundreds of dollars on chair covers or sashes)

Welcome! I wouldn’t worry too much, white is a base color and matches mostly everything. I think white chairs would be fine. Some people don’t get chair covers for ugly burgundy banquet hall chairs when their colors are yellow and blue. So, ivory v white should show little difference. Besides, people should be sitting in them, so you shouldn’t notice them much. Matching whites is near impossible.

I agree… go with the ivory, no one will notice! They will be sitting in the white chairs and eventually using the napkins, which won’t have the affect of decor after the meal… no biggie at all!

we’re doing that. i love ivory so much more than white, but don’t have that option with the chairs (and i’m not a fan of chair covers so we’re not going that route). i don’t feel that people will judge.

Thanks for the input! I agree with you all, and it feels great to have some back-up.

I agree with everyone before me, the chairs once everyone will be in them, won’t be noticed, it’s what is on the table that will get more of people’s attention.
