Just wondering what your thoughts are of getting a dress that’s a light gold (aka cream coloured) tone? I am thinking of going with a Maggie fitted lace dress, and I was set on that shade, but my Maid/Matron of Honor said that it doesn’t look “new” or “clean” when it’s a wedding dress that isn’t pure white.
Also wondering if anyone who ordered a dress in that shade ended up with skeptical comments from guests/family who are more traditional?

Maggie has a number of dresses with light gold fabric on them, and I got to try on a couple. I thought it created a really nice contrast, though I’m not sure it looked good on me.

For me, I didn’t want a pure white dress. It’s just not my style. I had a dark ivory color. I think it’s traditional to go white, but now a days people are branching out to other colors.

My dress is Ivory and gold and its awesome. If you like the colour go for it 🙂

I am assuming a lace overlay? The light gold will really make the lace pop. I really don’t think it will make your dress look “dirty”

My dress was ivory and it was gorgeous! It definitely didn’t look like it was dirty or old.

I purchased Allure 8634. It is ivory lace overlaying light gold satin. Though I had planned to wear the more traditional ivory or white, when I put this on it just felt right. I found it to look very vintage and it worked better with my fair complexion. No one has said anything yet, but if they did I would tell them where to shove it in the most lady like way possible. hehe. I say if you love it…get what it is that makes you feel good. It’s your day, not your Maid of Honor’s. No one will think you look dirty?! If you feel beautiful that will shine through…and that is all that anyone will notice.

My dress is a fitted, light gold, lace maggie dress! I got nothing but compliments on it and the color.

It’s hard to tell in this photo, but mine is gold with ivory lace. My mom was set on making sure I had a white dress, but when I tried this one on, she was sold on the ivory.
