- I bought my dress in ivory without even thinking twice since the sample was ivory and I figured I liked it so why not?! I have always felt there isn’t much of a difference. What do you guys think?
Ivory will look white to everyone. It’s simply another shade of white that looks better against most people’s skin.
I am having the same issue. I am thinking I am leaning towards ivory since I don’t plan on doing any tanning before my wedding, and the ivory supposedly looks better against pale skin (so you don’t look so washed out).
I just went to a bridal show and there was a dress sale there. I’d say probably about 80% of the dresses were ivory. Mine is ivory too! My skin is pretty pale but it photographs with sort of a reddish tint and the white made me look sunburnt in all the pics I got. It was awful!
Mine is champagne but I had no idea until I was ordering it and they told me that’s what I had tried on. I think ivory looks better on the majority of people than bright white.
I would try on dresses in both colors by the same designer just so you can see it on your skin tone. I am also pale, with a pinkish tint so I went into it thinking that I would pick an ivory dress since everyone always says ivory looks better on pale skin. But, white ended up being way more flattering for me. Also, different designers have different shades of white (the more blue ones are the ones that tend to not go well with pale skin).
