I’m getting married in 3 days and my dress is ivory and the guys are all in gray suits. They will wear ivory shirts though. I think it’s all going to look great and I’ll show you a pic next week and hopefully, that might help!

Why do you want them to wear grey?  I’ve seen light ivory with grey and it looks fine.  However, if you’re looking at dark ivory or champagne, most brides have their men either wear black or a beige/tan color.

The darker the grey, the more formal the suit.

@Bazingau:  Beige and tan suits are generally terrible looking, and a useless thing for a man to have in his closet.

Charcoal if you want formal, light grey if you want summery and informal, medium grey if you want in between.

If you want practical (i.e. most versatile) go with navy blue suits.  This is the first thing a man buys when building a proper wardrobe.

@Duncan:  I beg to differ.  This is one of my inspiration photos and I think the suit looks amazing.

We did grey and ivory (alabaster) and it looked fab!! He wore a white shirt though, but the shirt was never close enough to my dress to make it look bad.

@LibbyLoo:  Do you mind saying where your guys got their ivory shirts? My groom and his guys are all wearing grey suits (which I think are really flattering OP) but my dress is true ivory so I have been hunting for mens ivory shirts to avoid looking dingy next to them!

My dress was ivory and the groomsmen wore dark grey suits with ivory shirts. I think grey suits will look great with your dress!

So glad you posted this! I’m thinking of doing something similar. Champagne dress, and light grey linen suits for the guys (it’s a breezy/ocean-view 1920’s venue). I want my bridesmaids in bright blue dresses, so we can’t do beige or tan suits…that would totally clash. Glad to hear that people think that will work!

BTW…the dress you picked is lovely!

They’re both neutrals; nobody will notice a single bit.

FI and his BM are wearing matching med gray suits, and my MOH is wearing a gray dress. I’m wearing ivory, and it all looks so beautiful together.
