I have just about falled head over heals for the J.Crew “Gracie” gown for my autmn wedding in San Diego. It’s a very streamlined gown and I’d love to see “real” brides wearing the dress.
Does anyone have photos of real brides (besides J.Crew’s gorgeous, but waif thin models) in the gown. I found pictures of Robin Roberts wearing the gown to the Academy Awards, but I’d love to see it on a bride.

Try that site… she blogged about the whole wedding process and wore this dress. There are TONS of pictures of her in the dress and she looked GORGEOUS!! (And I’m sure it will look BEAUTIFUL on you too!!!)

The J.Crew “weddings and parties” section has an area where real brides upload their photos so you can check that area for photos as well.

I was certain I was going to wear Gracie until I ordered it and tried it on. It was not flattering on me at all. I think it is probably hard to wear on some figures- I am a size 0, but curvy. Also, J Crew’s ivory has more color in it than most. It was a little too yellow for my skin tone.
It is so easy to order and return I would go ahead and do it now to make you like it.

@cakegal:You’ve got me worried! I’ve got my eye on the Gracie gown for eons because I have got scars (keloids) on my chest, and while I adore bared shoulders gowns, I don’t want unnecessary attention on my scars on my chest. The Gracie gown would be perfect hiding all the scars. And while I’ve seen other wedding dresses that have similar cuts, I just don’t like them as much as the Gracie, as it’s so simple and elegant and yet really beautiful..
Problem is, I live in Asia. So I really hope when I make that order from JCrew, the dress will be a perfect fit so I don’t have to ship it back etc (shipping will cost quite a bit for me).
So.. after reading your post I’m worried. I’m not busty at all, but I do have hips. Do you think I’ll still be OK in the gown? I’m about a size 2.

I just bought the Gracie Gown for my February wedding. I took it to a seamstress and she is adding embelishments to the waist and collar..and an ornate flower on the side. I love the dress because it is simple and elegant. I will post pictures later.
