Alright ladies, I’m on the hunt for cute ivory ballet flats to go with my wedding dress, and I think I may have found some at J.Crew, but they look more white than ivory, and my dress is definitely ivory, not white. Does anyone know if J.Crew’s "ivory" is really an "off-white"? They call some of their wedding dresses "ivory" too, and the dresses also look more white than ivory to me. I wish I could see the shoes in the store before making a decision to order – but of course, they are catalog/online only. Any advice appreciated!

Hey Sarah! I’ve got the J. Crew Avery dress in ivory and it is indeed ivory. But that’s the silk tricotine. I also tried on one of their other gowns, though I can’t remember the name. It was duchess satin, I believe? And yes, it was definitely more of an off-white than a creamy ivory. I’ve never had or seen any of their shoes, though.
Don’t know if this helps or further confuses, lol…

Hey Lovebug! Thanks for the feedback – it was helpful, as I just needed to know that at least some of J. Crew’s ivory pieces aren’t actually the bright white that they look on the website! I bit the bullet and ordered the shoes – crossing my fingers that they match my dress b/c they are so darn cute! AND they are some of the first flats I’ve seen that allow a girl to show off her toes! Looky here: http://tinyurl.com/27varu. I’ll be sure to report back if they work out…
