I know most of you love this tea length gown from Justin Alexander’s 2010 collection:
Now I found this very similar dress from Elie Saab:
Which one do you like better?
I prefer the dress from Elie Saab. The lace (?) looks so much more intricate! I always liked the JA, but thought that something about it was just not right… I think it is the lace part below the waistline. This part looks weird to me. Elie Saab made this part look much better.
Interestingly the dress from Elie Saab is older than the one from JA (2008/09 vs. 2010). Maybe 8465 is just a copy…?

The Elie Saab is very nice, but I still like the Justin Alexander one better because it has a softer look. The Elie Saab is, to me, a more harsh look.

I like the color of the JA better but the design of the ES better.

Elie Saab makes the most beautiful dresses ever! I bet that dress would even be more stunning in person. I’m not a fan of tea length dresses in general but he makes it look so soft and elegant.
I’m guessing the price tag on the second one is about three times as much as the first one.

I prefer the Elie Saab, but then again, I basically love everything ES makes!

I pretty much gasped when I saw the Ellie Saab. If you can afford it, I would go for that one. It’s phenomenal.

I still prefer the JA… Maybe it’s the color, but it looks nicer to me.

I love them both but like the Ellie Saab better, how much difference in cost is there?
They practically look identical to me. If the price difference is big, I would def go for the cheaper one.

@simpleandchic: a couple thousand probably.
OP are you talking about for yourself or just in general?
I love the lace on the ES, but the color of the JA. I’m sure the ES is delicious in person though. UGH! WANT!

Just talking in general! My wedding day is already over. *sigh* I have no idea how much the SE costs.

I still prefer the JA, to me the JA looks like a wedding dress and for some reason the Elie just looks like a regular tea length dress.

I like the details and shape of the second one more, but for a wedding I’d want it in a whiter color

I met Justin Alexander yesterday and he said that 8465 was inspired by a much more expensive gown. That may be it.
