I am a plus size lady who bought a champagne lace gown, but now I need a jacket, cape etc as I am getting married at the end of March when it is still fairly cold.
I don’t want my cover up to take away from my dress since it is so beautiful, and to be honest it will mostly be for travelling around, but I don’t know what to do.
My BMs are wearing black and gold lace with black cardigans and I considered getting a nice little black cardigan, would this be silly?
Any tips of ppictures for ideas? I am at a total loss for ideas. Help!
Here I am holding my dress

I don’t think I like a cardigan with that dress – I think they work better with tulle/poofier skirts more than lace. What about a thicker wrap, or even a blanket-as-wrap if it’s just going to be for traveling? I also REALLY love how wedding dresses look with faux fur shawls/stoles – I think it’s very glamorous.

ig you want a bolero tI totally think this in ivory would work
However I’m in love with the idea of a pashmina because you could use it after the wedding and have it as a sweet reminder of your day.
I think a gold pashmina would be stunning! I think black would be ay too harsh with your dress so whatever you decide to do I’d stick with something ivory or gold.

I am seeing more and more scarf capes. Ted Baker has a few if you want to look for more pictures. They are basically just a large square of fabric folded in half, and seamed on each side for the underarm. You can make them yourself easily, or a seamstress can do it for you in the fabric of your choice.
I chose this pic even though it is a casual outfit because you can see how it works.

I would try to see if you can match the lace with a bolero. I just ordered one from Etsy from a store called TIFFARY, they are in Poland. They have so many options of lace though and I ended up finding one that perfectly matched my Alfred Angelo gown.

Your dress is stunning. A matching a lace bolero would look pretty. I found a few on David’s Bridal site that are very nice.

Thank you all!
I like all of the ideas, I don’t want anything too harsh or bulky, so it’s kind fo a challenge. I feel like a matching lace bolero might be a bit too much? I don’t know. I guess I have to try some on.

I was convinced that I would wear a bolero and actually spent $80 on one from Etsy. But everyone voted against me wearing it (saying it actually draws attention to my arms) and it is hanging in my closet with tags on. I still like it though. It didn’t cover my dress – was just for arm coverage and the back overlapped about 1/2 an inch. I went with wool because my entire dress was lace and a lace bolero would have been too much. Here is the link to the one I bought (and a pic below): https://www.etsy.com/listing/102141221/wedding-bolero-jacket-shrug-short?ref=shop_home_active_23
Side note: I custom ordered mine with alpaca wool and I added length to the sleeves because I have a scar lower on my arm that I wanted to cover.
