We are in the planning stages of our honeymoon and are looking at St. Lucia. We both have our hearts set on Jalousie Plantation but I have heard they are switching over to a new management and will soon be the Tides Sugar Beach. Has anyone stayed at Jalousie and or experienced any trouble when booking with them due to the switch over?

this might not be the advice that you’re looking for, but dh and I stayed at Ladera for our honeymoon in 2010–it’s up the hill from Jalousie and they had a deal with them that you can access the beach at Jalousie (as well as Anse Chastanet) via shuttles, and it was like the best of both worlds! Jalousie seemed lovely too, but much bigger, and it seemed like it’d be kinda a pain to get from the rooms down to a beach, like people had to wait for shuttles just to get around the resort. we absolutely adored Ladera and would go again in a heartbeat 🙂

@finnaroo: I’ve heard many great things about Ladera… it looks like such a stunning proprty! it really helps to hear someone’s opinion who has stayed on the island and actually experiencd the resorts (that’s why I took the Hotel Chocolat off of our “places to stay” list… I read some not so great reviews). I think I am going to seriously look into Ladera because I like that they have the view and get to use the Jalousie beach… like you said, the best of both worlds!
