My hubby is a musician, as are most of his friends and family… So naturally we want to incorporate that and save money on the music aspect of our wedding. We’d like to have a fun, relaxed jam happen at the reception.
Has anyone else tried this out? Will it even work? Any advice would be great

I like this idea! Fiance wants to do something like this too, but everyone we know (including him) is into hardcore screamo music that lots of poeple see as “noise”. That wouldn’t really work for a wedding.
If you have a jam band, some people might not dance, and if you’re lookin for people to dance, then you could maybe consider having the band during cocktail hour/dinner and switch to dancing music afterwards. I do think that at any wedding, lots of poeple are excited to dance, and I think at lest some people will be disappointed if they can’t dance to the jamz.
But since you said most friends and family are musicians, then I think everyone would enjoy it! At least for a few hours.
