Hi Bees! I’m leaning towards giving jars of jam from a local farm as our favor. The size options are 1.5 oz, 2 oz, 4 oz, 6 oz, 9 oz. 4 oz seems like a nice size to me, big enough to seem substantial but doesn’t feel like an entire jar of jam (if that makes sense..). The problem is, we’ll have lots of guests flying, so the 2 oz would work much better for them. What are your thoughts?
Could I have jars of different sizes and then guests can just take the size that works for them? (Our wedding is on the rustic side, so the mismatched sizes wouldn’t be out of place).
That said, I was leaning towards putting the jars at each place setting since it seems like that helps people remember to take their favor with them… could I just put different sizes on the table and let people sort it out? Or if I know a particular table is all flying guests, I could put 2 oz jars there, and for the driving guests put 4 oz.

We did 4 oz jars and they were a really nice size. Had a mix of flying and driving guests and we still only had a few left behind out of 60. I think it’d be easier to let people figure out their own situations, rather than hoping they figure out smaller jars are for flying guests (that isn’t going to work), or don’t wonder why some people have bigger jars and some smaller.

This is what the 4 oz jar looked like, by the way. I think a smaller one would look pretty dinky, especially if there are larger ones on the table.

For the flying guests, I’d definitely do the 2 oz jars. You can put out a whole bunch so that people can take more if they want. That would be easier to do than to sort out different size jars.

Thanks both of you!! I decided to just go with all 4 oz. I’d really like to have them at each place setting (as part of table decor), so I think sticking with all one size makes sense for us. The flying guests can either not take it with them or take it to continental breakfast at the hotel the next day 😀
I’m 3 months out from our wedding and trying not to overthink silly little $*#! like this!! Your help is appreciated.

You could also double up the 2 oz jars for flying guests… if you’re worried about the liquids rule. Stack them up and tie them together with some twine or something.
