We are doing our weddingmoon at a Couples Resort in Jamaica. You can’t go wrong in Negril on the 7 mile beach. Where in Jamaica is that resort?

@soonmrswhite:  i have been to the el cid in mexico.  i was there last year.  it’s very nice, very clean and modern.  the rooms were very comfortable and the service was excellent.  it’s not a very large resort.  if you prefer quaint, it will be perfect for you.  it’s not far from the airport so that will be a huge plus.

i have also been to the resort right next door, the now jade, a couple of times.  also one of our favourites and highly recommend.

@soonmrswhite:  I’ve been to Mexico 3 times and Jamaica about 21-22 times. I have stayed at the hotel you are looking at in Jamaica. What are you looking to do on your trip? What things do you like? I prefer Jamaica but I’m biased bc my family is from the Caribbean.

@soonmrswhite:  I prefer mexico mainly because there is so much more to do than jamaica.  There are so many options.  I prefer the food.  I also prefer the water.  The water around the yucatan is so different then the rest of the caribbean and I have no idea why.  I feel safer in Mexico, people are nicer, and no one tries to sell you drugs every 8 minutes.

@soonmrswhite:  The pool is absolutely amazing!!!  And it’s huge and curvy so it’s not like this big rectangular box like a lot of pools are… I have never seen a better pool anywhere else…

I loved the nightly themes, the dancers that performed were amazing….

The drinks were perfect!!  In St. Lucia the drinks were so weak that even when my husband had 15 he didn’t get a buzz….

I don’t remember ever having a bad meal or snack…..

HOWEVER, there is just 1 thing that wasn’t too great…. the ocean.   The boats dock right there off the beach, and when you step into the water, it does feel slightly slimy.  There are floaty things all around for you to lounge in and that’s probably why.  So if you are more of an ocean person than a pool one, this may not be the resort for you.

Oh and I just wouldn’t go back to Mexico if I stayed in the most expensive resort and someone else was paying…

When my bags were left in the concierge, I got robbed.
