We went to Jamaica (Ocho Rios) and I LOVED it!! The Jamaican people are the nicest ever. It is such a beautiful landscape with a lot of culture. If I were to go back I wouldnt stay at an all inclusive resort because I would actually want to see the country and eat at actual restaurants!

We also went to Jamaica (Ocho Rios) and we also loved it.  I agree with @pitbulLover that the Jamaican people, at least at our resort, were unbelieveable!  So nice and friendly and fun!

I went to the Bahamas in early November and it was so amazing.  We were there for 7 nights and easily could have stayed another 7.  We never once had a problem with anyone having a bad attitude, expecting a tip, or anything.  Several times we left the resort (Sandals Royal Bahamian) and took the local bus into town and that was a very positive experience.  Everyone was just so nice.  Everytime a local got onto the bus, they made a point to say hi and greet everyone on the bus.  I was very impressed by that.  Also, one thing I noticed was how safe I felt the driving was.  I’ve been to a couple of other Caribbean islands where I felt like I was in race for the Daytona 500…SCARY! lol

I could go on and on about the resort/Bahamas, so if you have any more questions, let me know!

I’ve been to both and Jamaica wins hands down.  Both are beautiful and if you choose Bahamas you will surely have a good time.  But the people in Jamaica are incredibly warm and welcoming.  I didn’t find this in the Bahamas and that makes the difference.  It’s true what the commercial says, Jamaica, when you go, you know.

But you are good either way, Bahamas is beautiful as well but Jamaica gets my vote.

@melbaby1009: We booked our honeymoon 7 months in advance but we didnt need to book it that far. We went through cheapcaribbean.com and got what I thought was a really good deal it was around $2500 for 7days/nights and airfare – it was all inclusive including a trip to Dunns River Falls which was amazing and if you go to Ocho Rios you cannot miss it!

Our honeymoon was Oct. 31 of this year – November 6th.  The hubs books in late August.  He always thinks he can get a better deal if he waits.  In the meantime, I’m freaking out wishing he would’ve booked in June.

@JsDragonfly: Yes!  The driving is outrageous!  But it makes for a good story.  LOL

I went to Negril, Jamaica.  It was gorgeous, one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve seen and I have traveled a bit.  It’s a bit of a drive from the Montego Bay airport but all the all inclusives have vans/shuttles that will take you from the airport to your accomodations.  The drive is absolutely worth it.

I went to Runaway Bay, Jamaica this past June. It was okay. We got an amazing deal ($900 a person for all inclusive, ground transportation, and airfare), but for me, I’d rather go to the Bahamas, any day.

I’ve been to the Bahamas twice in the past 2 years, Jamaica once. In the bahamas, it is undoubtedly more expensive (at least in our case) but it is not spring breaky, AT ALL…at least where we were at–.Paradise Island.

Bahamas!!  There has been quite a bit of “political” problems and high crime in jamacia lately.  I realize that you will likely be fine on the resort, but nonetheless Jamaica is not considered the safest place lately.  Bahamas is beautiful, with amazing beaches/water.  It is fairly americanized…which can be a comforting thing, but not to some.  Personally, if you do choose Jamaica, I would NOT go to Ocho Rios.  Negril/Montego much more impressive/pretty.  You definitely can’t go wrong with Bahamas!!!!
