Narrowed down our honeymoon to either St Lucia or jamaica. I’ve heard great things about both, so now to choose! We are definitely going with all inclusive, probably sandals and we live to do excursions such as hiking, boating, sightseeing etc, though we do want some down time just drinking and lounging on the beach. Having somewhat of a nightlife or night entertainment would be a plus as well! As far as scenery goes. . We like a mix of beaches, mountains, lush greens and clear waters and we’ve heard they both have these! Let us know your experience, including resort.. since we can’t choose on our own! Lol

Haven’t been to St. Lucia and I’m no expert on the Carribean but we very much enjoyed our trip to Jamaica several years ago — highly recommend The Caves.

I went to montego bay and st lucia. I actually stayed at a sandals in st Lucia with an ex. He was boring, but sandals was amazing. We did fishing and booked a volcano, mud bath, waterfall, snorkeling day trip. There’s hiking in st Lucia too. I was with a stick in the mud so I couldnt get him out. But the resort had wake boarding/water skiing and paddle boards there too.

I’ve been to 4 of the Sandals resorts in Jamaica (all on the same trip) and they were great – we were not there for a honeymoon, but it would be really awesome for one. There are three Sandals in the Montego Bay area, we stayed at one of those and there was a free shuttle that ran all day between all three of them – staying at one of the resorts gave you access to all the others so we hung out at a different resort or bounced between them each day depending on what we wanted to do (one was more of a “party” place and another was more inimate – one had better beach area than another, etc). I thought this was really fun and gave us a lot of different things to do – it also gave us more entertainment and food options since they varied by resort. All three of them were within 10 minutes of each other on the shuttle, so it was super convenient.
One of the days we decided to do an off-site excursion to Negril and stopped by the Sandals there since we had free access to the amenities and could eat for free. It was super nice as well and really fun, it was bigger than the ones in Montego Bay and I thought the beach was nicer (not that it’s not nice in Montego Bay) – we had great food there and there are some cool excursions you could do nearby in Negril. The Negril Sandals is right next to Hedonism II (google it if you aren’t familiar) so there are a lot of nude beachers, we didn’t mind, but just a heads up for those who might. We were actually going to try out the nude beach area, but fiance’s brother and his girlfriend were with us and he (brother) seemed uncomfortable which was totally fine, haha :).
I have two sets of friends who honeymooned at the St. Lucia Sandals and both had great things to say. I think you can’t go wrong with either trip!

My brother in law and sister in law stayed at the St. Lucia Sandals resort and had an amazing time. Their pictures were gorgeous! If cost is not a factor, would vote for St. Lucia as its a bit off the beaten path so I think it’s a little more unique. But like others have said, sounds like you can’t go wrong with any choice. I do believe Jamaica will be cheaper though.

We did St Lucia and it was amazing! We didn’t stay at Sandals, but we passed by La Toc on our way to Pigeon Island and the outer wall and landscaping looked nice haha. It seemed really big, which wasn’t what we were going for, but can be fun 🙂
St Lucia is a beautiful island, the people are all really friendly, and I feel like it’s the perfect size because there’s a lot to do if you want but not so much that you feel like you’re missing out if you decide to relax on the beach all day.

Thank you! St Lucia is definitely my top pick, but heard good things about Jamaica and the resort we are looking at ( sandals royal plantation) is one of the top rated in the Caribbean and all rooms come with butler service! So that’s the incentive there.
