We went to Jamaica last year, but we stayed at a Couples Resort (CSS). We spent a night seeing the town a little bit and our driver mentioned a few interesting things about Sandals. There are two Sandals in Ochos Rios. They are right across the street from each other. One is beachside and the other is across the street and not beachside. The one across the street has butler service and is apparently the nicer one. We were told they get rides to the beach. It just seemed a little weird to me to have two properties so close to each other. I guess where you stay depends on what you are looking for.

But I hear you, pictures are never a safe way to pick a place. I really liked we we stayed. The beach was sandy and it was very secluded. It was truly a relaxing resort.

kkaitlinporter:  we are going to Sandals Royal Carribean in Jamaica!

It is the smallest Sandals in Jamaica but apparently has the best service! Also, it has the stay at one play at three bonus so we can try out other sandals while we are there! It has a private island and it just looks beautiful! I don’t know if you were looking for a big or small resort but we looked into that other sandals where you have I be driven to the beach and we realized we would much prefer a resort like the royal carribean where there is no stress abouy finding rides, it is all within walking distance!!

We are booked for Sandals Montego Bay 🙂 I’m in about 4 groups on FB and they were very helpful in our decision. We would’ve like Whitehouse and we thought about St. Lucia but price was also a factor for us. But I’ve heard plenty of good reviews and I’ve watched YouTube videos.

Just got back from Sandals Negril (a just because vacation, not our honeymoon). I’ve been to Aruba, Belize, Mexico, Nassau, St. Thomas, and Puerto Rico and this was hands down the best tropical vacation I’ve ever had. I’ve never tried a Riu resort but check out TripAdvisor for honest reviews and real guest photos. It’s like the consumer guide for trips.
