So i’ve asked this question to many people and there isnt anyone that gives me a direct answer…im planning on getting married in jamaica next feb i have a few resorts picked out, my question is what is the easiest way to book? obviously a travel adgent has its perks… but can you actually book your wedding date with a resort and then wait for the deals to come up later on in the year?? i know this is risky but usually you have no troubles finding a hlf decent allinclusive deal at anytime

If you have flexible dates, I would say go ahead and use a site like bookit.com for your accommodations. Thats how we did it when we got married in Jamaica and we ended up booking a brand new AI for $100 pp. I must warn you that using an in-house planner does have its shortcomings. Remember that, first and foremost, they work for the resort and not you. I would recommend getting the details in writing so that you have some recourse if things don’t go as planned.

We are getting married at Sandals Montego Bay in Jamaica in June. I booked through a travel agent. She doesn’t charge me anything, she gets paid commission by Sandal’s – so it isn’t any additonal cost to me. This was the easiest route for me so that I don’t have to answer all the questions our guests have – they can just contact the travel agent. Also, Sandals will give you a discount if they have a better deal come up than what you paid when you booked – you just have to watch the prices and call them if you see a better deal. I would think other resorts would have the same policy? I’m not sure.
