James Allen Order Delayed

What’s the issue? is it a custom order? is the stone delayed in shipping? what is their excuse? For the record-ive heard nothing but steller comments about their staff and customer service.

My ring is from James Allen, absolutely love it and their service. Did they say what the issue is? I didn’t have any delays, but I would much rather wait longer for the perfect ring thats in perfect condition rather than open the box to realize something is wrong with it.

Love my ring but it was delayed 3 different times. But in the end I am so happy with it and it was for sure worth the wait!

We got both my rings from James Allen. My e-ring took 2 weeks as the setting needed to be made. I believe pretty much all their settings are made to order. My wedding band was supposed to take a week to be made but some point after placing the order it got bumped to 2 weeks. I talked to one of their customer service people and they were able to expedite my band and in the end was maybe a day late. But I got it just in time for the big day.  They have great service and quality products.

JA resizing also took *forever*– over two weeks!! I’ve never lost a pavé stone with 2+ years of wear and no prong tightening though so I think it was worth the wait!

Another customer is complaining about this over on Pricescope. They must just be extra busy right now. In your shoes, I would consider the fact that if you cancel this order, you will just have to start the process all over again with a different vendor – who may ALSO be busy right now.

I think they’re busy because they recently had a sale. I bought a very simple wedding band during the sale and they told me to expect a delay. Idk if mine was delayed since it came rather quickly, but then again it’s just a plain rose gold wedding band. Please share once you receive it tho!

We ordered my ring from JA feb  21st.  The first stone we chose had a feather flaw that put it at risk during mounting.  We didn’t find out about it till almost 2 weeks after the order was placed.  Chose another stone a few days later and it was march 24th when it finally arrived.  It was the longest 4 weeks of my life but it was SO worth the wait!  It was better than I hoped for, and we got so much more diamond than we would have had we gone brick and mortar.   And once you have the ring on your finger, all the angst and frustration will just slip away.

Rosegoldroseg :  I think that a few things are coming together right now for JA (and would be true for BN, BE and many others). All of JA’s diamonds are sourced from overseas except, perhaps, the “True Hearts”. They have few to none in house. You can get lucky and maybe they have diamond inhouse because someone else ordered it and returned it and now you want it. Most of the non-retail part of the gem and diamond industry takes off from around mid-July to end of August (July being the wild card month). JA had a huge sale. I suspect that their sales slump in summer and they wanted to up them during a typically bad month.  So, all these factors are coming together to cause a lot of delays and problems. No excuses, since none of this is unknown or new information to JA and they really should have planned better…but maybe this offers some background.

I had a pave’ side stone fall out of my JA ring, and I shipped it back to them to have it fixed and serviced. It took 3 weeks and 2 days to get it back to me – they said the delay was due to high volume of orders. I just got it back yesterday. Be patient, JA is well worth it.
