hssweethearts2013 : I didn’t buy a ring, but I purchased a pair of diamond stud earrings from them. The process is similar where you select the loose diamonds and then the setting you want. They were gorgeous and far exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend them. The selection and price could not be beaten by brick and mortar stores in my area.

I’ve never personally ordered from them, but do sign up for their email list. They often have pretty good sales!

My ring is from JA and my experience was fine. I do have a knife edge solitaire and it is not uncomfortable in the slightest.

However, I do now have regrets about going with JA over Whiteflash. JA recently removed all the diamond certs and diamond measurements from their website, forcing you to call them to get more info. Not cool. I shop online so I DON’T have to talk to anyone and hiding info seems wrong. I planned to upgrade my way to the size I want, but now I have to start all over at Whiteflash. No big deal because my diamond is tiny, but I should have just gone with them in the first place.

Not firsthand experience, but I had a friend return her replacement ring (lost the first one) from JA because she said it seemed cheap/not as well made compared to her original. They kept the diamond they bought from there but had a setting done with a local jeweler.

meredith178 :  I’m not sure what setting she had, but I tend to agree that my setting doesn’t feel like much and looks almost like plastic, but I’m not going to get a forever setting until I have the forever stone. I got the cheapest one they had.

dracarys :  Woah, that’s crazy that they removed the certificates! I never would have purchased if I’d had to call to get those details. That’s really disappointing to hear.

HoneysHoney :  Yeah, they changed it last week sometime. I just got my ring in February and I’m kicking myself for giving in to my impatience instead of saving another month to buy from Whiteflash.

I don’t own a JA ring, but they get stellar reviews [and have for years] on the Bee.

My engagement ring is from James Allen. The process was okay, I just wish they had a show room on the west coast. We purchased the wrong size so I wasn’t really able to wear  my ring without one of those snuggies. I didn’t want to send it back and wait weeks for them to work on it.

I recently got a seven stone ring from my hubby and almost went with james allen…but found a better deal somewhere else and decided the price difference wasn’t worth it. If I could go back in time I think I would get a Heidi Gibson engagement ring instead.

I love my ering from JA. The setting is beautiful, sturdy yet delicate and the prongs are almost invisible which gives the impression the diamonds is floating. It’s the knife classic knife edge (not the presentation one) and it’s very comfy (in comparison to like the original Tiffany setting I found more than annoying)

My husband says the customer service was nice. That’s all the info I ever got from him.

We also bought a pair of plain weddingbands from them. They were not JA as the pictures suggest but by the brand “benchmark” which you can find in any mall-chain-store for a couple of bucks. Back then I didn’t know and would have exchanged them for pure false advertisement. So they where 14k white gold and very yellow / sparse on the rhodium plating. I had mine serviced with a local bench jewelry and the difference in color to my husband’s matching band is huge. That doesn’t speak well for them.

Plus: I just can’t fathom that they removed the certificates and numbers from the website. My husband would have never purchased the ring there without the information online. He did his research during office hours and there was no “calling the customer line”. He can’t just go off and talk on the phone about something entirely work unrelate. He couldn’t do it at home because he was doing this in secret. I don’t get it… sometimes are ask myself who these marketing geniouses are. Isn’t the point of online shopping to not communicate with annoying sellspeople?

Anyhow. Here’s my ering – which I truly love.

My ring is from James Allen. It’s gorgeous, feels sturdy, yet looks delicate. Getting it resized was easy (though it takes a while). He picked JA because of the quality/value.
