We had to move the wedding to jan 12, 2013, just booked the venue literally today!! Due to a family member in the hospital we weren’t sure if we were even going to have a wedding in jan. but we booked it & it’s going to happen.
We are just a little over 3 months away from the wedding. Was going to send save the dates but it almost seems like a waste at this point. But it will be just after the holidays & I want people to be able to attend & make anneccessary plans to come. Plus the weather could potentially be an issue… Is it too early to send out the wedding invitations by the first week of October? I will be making all the food & preparations myself. So it’d be helpful to get a general idea if people will be attending.
Should I send out some sort of save the date, even an email announcement now, then send the invitatiomonth late later? Or does that sound redundant?? But I want to make sure I’m not cutting it too close..
Any advice would be really helpful. I’m only inviting about 45/50 people and someof them I’m pretty sure won’t be attending. Realistically looking at around 35.

I would do an email announcement and calls instead of save the dates and send your invitations a little later on. Maybe they can even double as Christmas cards?

I would do an email announcement than send your invites the beginning of November

I think you guys are right. As long as they know a wedding is on the calendar they can account for it. Then expect an invitation to follow. And that saves me money on postage in the end.
Thanks for the advice!

If you had your heart set on a paper good, you can get simple postcard save the dates and send them asap- like by monday/tuesday. Then send the invite out at regular time.

I would send out invitations ASAP, but I like getting things done early!

Im a bit of an early bird too, I think maybe I’ll put the word out that its on the books & send out the invites sooner then later. Im also making those myself & it will take some time to get them together & in the mail. If I start now I should be right on schedule…I hope!
Thank you for the help ladies 🙂 sometimes you have a good idea of what to do but just need people to confirm it for you.

I would also send out invitations ASAP, BUT I am your sole vote for Save-The-Date Cards. That being said, I would do Save-The-Date Cards via email. A quick email announcement will suffice!
