@AnnieGrace:  I wanted to do it right so I did a 4 hour hold. I had had 0 water to drink all day – just coffee. And I LOVE fruit – and held off on all fruit so it wouldn’t be dilute. I read afternoon can be best so I took it at 4. Plus it gave me something interesting to do at work-haha. Maybe I should try morning?

@carolinabee:  Well in the morning you’ll atleast know it’s concentrated although they say it’s not ideal. I always use FMU with OPKs (well in the 1 month I used them, he he) and they worked just fine. Atleast the test line would show up darker so you know you don’t have a whole package of duds!

@carolinabee:  I think that’s a great idea and I am happy to share my experiences, now that they were successful.  Here goes:

How / When did you find out:  I found out yesterday.  It was 16DPO and a day after my missed period.  I felt a little off in the days leading up, but didn’t want the disappointment.  When my period was missed and my temp still up, I bought a test.

How did you / will you tell SO:  My husband has been involved all along.  He was right there with me when I found out.

TTC strategy (charting, OPKs, supplements, lying down after BD, etc.):   I only started charting temps and doing OPKs last cycle.  Prior, I was just tracking my period and expected ovulation period on calendars.

Cycles Trying:  This was our 7th.  Went off BCP in June.  Had normal cycles and periods 31-33 days each.

Anything new this cycle:  This cycle I bought more OPKs (the cheaper ones) and I tested in the morning and before bed.  I didn’t want to miss the surge this month.  When I thought I was getting close, I confirmed with a digital.  I also monitored my temp and CM.  My husband and I had better success with BD timing and I always layed still afterwards for at least 30 minutes.

Symptoms:  My boobs started hurting last week pretty bad.  I was also feeling really gassy and emotional.

I’ll play! 🙂

How / When did you find out:  I found out at 11 dpo after thinking AF started early on at 8 dpo, when I had a huge temp drop and spotting.  Temp went back up at 9 and 10 dpo, but I kept spotting.  Still thinking I was out, I told myself the only way I would test with an FRER on 11 dpo was if I hadn’t gotten AF and my temp was still up that morning.  Both happened, so used FMU at 11 dpo and sure as sh*t a pretty dark 2nd line was there.  Spotting stopped completely that day, too and (knock on wood) hasn’t returned since then.

How did you / will you tell SO: Our bedroom is in  the upstairs of our house in an attic-turned loft with some brutally steep stairs on the way up.  I kept telling DH I really wanted to move down to one of our guest bedrooms, especially if I got pregnant so I wouldn’t be traversing the dangerous stairs as a huge whale.  So after I did the test, I jumped back in bed and said, “DH, can we move downstairs now?” He is like, “Uggh, I don’t want to talk about this right now!” and I was like…”Well, you said..” DH: “WHAT?! ARE YOU SERIOUS?!” Then flipped the lights and showed him the stick.  He made me do a digital one bc he didn’t believe the FRER.

TTC strategy (charting, OPKs, supplements, lying down after BD, etc.):   I quit BCPs at the end of October, bought TCOYF and started charting then. First month was more like NTNP, second month I did OPKs and used Pre-seed (but my CF still sucked), and third month I brought out the big guns: Charting, OPKs, taking VitB complex to try and extend my luteal phase, drinking Fertili Tea with Vitex, and still using PreSeed.  I don’t know if this had any factor whatsoever, but we never did it at night, only in the morning or afternoon since we were both off of school for Christmas Break.

Cycles Trying:  Third, sort of. Third not using any goalie, but only 2nd with “High” timed intercourse according to FF.

Anything new this cycle:  Just the Fertili Tea before O and VitB complex.  I don’t know if either one worked or we just got lucky.  Also didn’t get up right away after BDing and tried the Sperm Meets Egg Plan–BD EOD until positive OPK, then every day for 3 days, skip a day, one more day.  I was also on a nice long break from med school, so was more relaxed and had more time to BD, etc.

Symptoms:  Implantation bleeding is about it, otherwise I got about every single PMS, impending AF symptom that I always get (cramps, moodiness, skin break out, no tender boobs before BFP but I never got them before AF either).  I truly believed I was out this time because it felt sooo much like I was about to get AF.  I even spotted before AF on previous 2 cycles, so didn’t think that was any different either.  The one and only thing that tipped me off were my temps staying elevated, so thank goodness for that or I would have thought I got an early and light period and probably would have kept drinking my wine for another week and a half before I got actual pregnancy symptoms!  One tiny thing I noticed after the fact is that I usually get (TMI alert) diarrhea-ish BMs when AF is well on her way (due to increased prostaglandins or something, can’t quite remember) and I didn’t get it as bad this time, but def. not constipation right out of the gate.

@carolinabee:  this is a great idea, and I filled it out, but maybe we should start a brand new thread for it?

@carolinabee:  ChuckNorris actually suggested something like this too. Sort of like the waiting thread for all of the newly engaged. It’d be cool if it had a seperate thread for all of siting waiting for a BFP and then the ones that get them we can do a little roll call like you posted above for it.

@mrsjroo:  I went off the Mirena IUD in October, and I’ve always been VERY regular prior to that.  Since I’ve removed it my cycles have been ALL over the place.  I certainly hope you have a BFP.  You said you were 10 DPO right now correct?

Well, I had a big temp drop this morning.  I’m not below coverline (just above) and no AF yet but I’m pretty sure I’m out this cycle.  I’ve had my standard giant headache the past few days and other normal-for-me PMS symptoms.  I had no real expectations that I would get pregnant this first cycle and actually a lot went much better than I thought it would…I’m trying to focus on that.  I feel so silly but I am SO disappointed.  My due date would have been my husband’s birthday.  You know, it seems a bit cruel on Mother Nature’s part to have this disappointment come at the time in our cycle when we’re already primed to be super emotional and irrational.  :oP

Well ladies, I’m still waiting on AF, 2 days late right now.  But I don’t want to test and be disappointed.  Undecided I’ve had a few PMS symptoms and my face has pretty bad acne which hasn’t been an issue for a long, long time.  So, I’m not sure what to think…FX…

Congrats to all the bees with BFP!

And baby dust to all those still trying!

@GearBride:  I couldn’t agree more with you! I recently apologized to DH for having mental breakdowns every single month I’ve gotten a BFN. As much as it does suck, I attribute a lot of it to my emotions those few days before AF shows. FX you get your BFP soon!

@carolinabee:  I think this is a great idea. I’m always wanting to know these things with the BFP’s each month!

I’m happy to play:

How / When did you find out:  Jan. 17 – 10 DPO by POAS

How did you / will you tell SO:  I showed him two with lines and showed him some previous ones with no lines… I was honestly shocked and wanted to share that I didn’t do anything cute/romantic.  He said he wanted to see the line get darker.  Well, he has gotten his wish.

TTC strategy (charting, OPKs, supplements, lying down after BD, etc.):  Charting; prenatals; OPKs

Cycles Trying:  2? 3?   I went of BC in August.  My first cycle was 29 days, but I did not ovulate based on my temps.  The next cycle was about 7 weeks, but based on temps it did seem like I ovulated.  This past cycle I did not ovulate for almost 2 months!

Anything new this cycle:  No… I was really wondering what was going on since ovulation disappeared…

Symptoms:  I really did not have any, and I definitely have been trying to spot!  I will say 9 DPO I did start to feel light cramps lower than normal period cramps and just different – not as severe as period type cramps.  Postivie test the next day.

Sticky baby dust to all!

@ScottishMrs:  Step away from the stick!!! You can do this…just keep reminding yourself that it probably won’t be positive yet even if you are pregnant! And I hope you feel better!

@ScottishMrs:  Hang in there! I’m on the POAS ledge too and I’m only 7dpo. I’ve been cramping and had the Captain Cranks for two days. I have never paid so much attention to my CM when I wipe, lol.

How about we make a pact? I won’t if you don’t! 🙂
