@babecake:  yeah, that sweetheart shape is bothering me too. I actually used your dress as a reference point. I am really really nervous about this dress. The rouching on the left side (of the picture) looks floppy like extra fabric will hang over. That is supposed to be designer grade fabric.

@MrsCarr85:  The dress looks good in regard to the changes you want.

A deeper sweetheart neckline

Be very careful asking for a deeper sweetheart nickline, I think it will through out the whole design and you will end up with pleats cut in half down the centre.

The Hidden Zip to come ALL the way up.

They will add a hook an eye that will close it at the top, this is added with all finishing touches.

Maybe more defined rosettes as the ones in the train look messy.

The front looks good, the back rosettes can do with a little more definition.

Overall looks great.

@TheVampiresMistress:

Thanks for the info ladies!  I don’t have a dream dress in mind.  I have like 200 pinned dresses – I actually have a dress I think I like in my mind that I came up with myself lol.  I like different parts of different dresses and I actually don’t think that I’m going to find something I like, I’m really afraid I’m too particular!  I’m hoping that changes once I start trying them on, but we’ll see.  I just didn’t know if I should go into shops and say, “No budget, whatever dress you can find” and if it’s a dress that happens to be in my budget, to just buy it, but if it’s not, then go the Jasmine’s route.  I’m just afraid to end up in love with a dress that’s like $15k and even Jasmine’s won’t be able to replicate it – I’m a huge perfectionist and I feel like I might be disappointed.  But, I’m getting way ahead of myself – I haven’t even been dresss shopping, yet! lol

@futuremrsk18:  I tried on a range of dresses including ones out of my budget knowing I could find a knock off version somewhere. I had actually settled on 2 dresses I liked outside of my budget and THEN stumbled across Jasmines so I decided to go the custom route instead. I tried on dresses I loved and dresses initially I wouldn’t have thought look good on me until I narrowed it down pretty close to what shape/style flattered my body the best and what little details I wanted in my final dress. I took extensive pictures of myself in the 2 dresses I wanted to share with Jasmine’s once I knew I was going the custom route so they could see exactly what I look like in the dresses, as well as the details of the parts I wanted incorporated in to my final dress from JBS. I tried on over 40 dresses and I used the “i just got engaged and I have no clue what my budget/wedding date is” approach and didn’t have any problems with pushy salespeople.

@MrsCarr85:  The one thing I noticed with your dress that no one has seemed to mention is the front “gap” between the top bodice and the train. The other girl’s dress doesn’t have it.

Alrightey so finally at the computer so I can post pictures of what I’m envisioning for my dress. Was originally looking into eBay sellers, but after getting pictures of their black lace, I’m not too impressed. They are the thicker, cheap looking material unlike the sheer thin delicate lace I’m wanting.

The first two pictures are the style of dress I want – still not fully sure which one. Planning to go try on dresses soon.

This next picture is what I’m wanting to colours and material to be like.

Emailed JBS, however no response yet besides the busy auto email. My wedding is still a bit away though. My dress budget is definitely very tight. Do you think I would be able to get away without upgrading to designer fabric or person?

Thanks ladies for your input!

@ralessio:  I agree, those rosettes should definitely be more defined.  Haha, I just zoomed in on the zipper and you’re right! It does go all the way up! I was thinking that they didn’t have a long enough zipper! Silly me.

@babecake:  My childbearing hips (as my mum calls them) makes me not quite a model figure! lol Thanks for the heads up regarding the sweetheart neckline. I may just keep it as it is. But I think it could be a little more defined like yours and hiheel’s daughers. It already has a hidden zipper installed, I was just concerned that it didn’t come all the way to the top.

@hiheel:  Thanks! I’ll probably keep the neckline as it is! Great to know that they use hook an eye’s at the top of the dress.

@TattooedChick23:  Thanks for spotting this!  I assumed it was because it was unfinished but its definitely worth mentioning to them.

@jeni.deidre:  I think I’m jealous of your deep v back! Lol My evening dress will have a deep v so opted to keep the gemma dress as it was… now I’m having regrets!

@futuremrsk18:  I always knew that I’d go for a mermaid style dress as I knew what suited my figure. I was more interested with the silhouette. I tried on a variety of dresses and I went to 5 boutiques and had 2 ‘final’ mermaid dresses within my budget.  I then decided to go to VW in London for the ‘experience’. BIG MISTAKE. Their sample size was my size exactly. I fell in love with 3 styles that ranges from £6k – £12k. My budget was a third of the cheapest dress and I refused to increase it. Then I found JBS and the rest is history! lol

Hello, bees!
I emailed Jasmine’s today to see if they could make me a dress and asked for a quote. My wedding isn’t til November 2014 so I’m hoping that would be plenty of time for Jasmine’s to get caught up and hopefully be able to help me 🙂

I saw someone in one of the previous threads post about having this dress made but I don’t think they ever did.

Also, I’m still a bit confused between the qualities of material Jasmine can use. For those of you familiar with it or that have had experience, what quality do you think I should ask for for this dress?

Hey all,

I messaged Jasmine today to see if they could make me this reception dress.

Will see, like everyone else I hope they message me back.  Hopefully maybe this summer they will be able to take new customers?  I feel bad they are so overwhelmed, but my wedding isnt until Sept 2014 so I have some time.  I wonder if they will email me back or if I should wait a few weeks and email again? Don’t want to bug them!

@Ms.Ninja:

Gosh I hope it’s well before summer! I kind of wish they took orders in order of need, as a 2014 bride has plenty of time. My wedding is in November of this year. Maybe if we’re lucky James will come and let us know a ball park on when they’ll be accepting new orders. If it’s going to be down the wire for me, I’d rather just go find something else and save myself the stress!

@pokey730Oh, I totally agree! The sooner the better.  That makes a lot of sense to take orders as needed.  But I bet that would be hard to keep track of.  Well I am certainly crossing my fingers for you, I hope you get your dress with PLENTY of time!

@Elrodien:  Oooh, please keep us updated about that dress if you have it made! I have been searching everywhere to see if someone has had it made in real life (either by Jasmine’s or Wonderxue, an etsy shop) but haven’t found a thing. It’s amazing!

I haven’t ordered from them, but from a lot of comments I’ve read, for lace, you want to go designer because it gives you a lot more and more beautiful lace options.

@arabbel:  Thank you!! I’ll certainly keep you updated, I have been looking everywhere for a replica as well. 🙂 Wonderxue on etsy is selling their version for $570 (just emailed them yesterday about it), and they do have a photo of their version of it as well. It’s not awful, but I do believe Jasmine’s can make it much more similar.

And thanks! I’ll keep that in mind once they get back to my email!
