@Okurio:  Wow, could you have provided us with a more difficult choice?! Both are wonderful but I chose Addie…it’s got just that little extra edge to it. I can’t wait to see what you go with!

@Okurio:  Agree, I think I would choose the Addie.  I am sure Jasmines would be able to make it.

@peachpeonies:  I second this! I would love to see Jasmine’s interpretation of Candy.

On a different note..you ladies have convinced me! I’m trying on dresses next week to make sure I know what I want..then I’m ordering from Jasmines! So excited. I think hiheel, aussiemum, and babecakes deserve a percentage commission.

@FutureMrsVerde:  Besides helping out, I just love following the dress journey.  In fact I was just thinking that it has been quite on this post while Jasmines have been on holidays.

Come on James, get moving, I want to see more dresses!!

Well I got an email from JBS today saying that they will be sending out my fabric samples in the next few days!

In the mean time, my Fiance and I decided to “elope” instead of flying back to Florida for a wedding. We will plan a week vacation in Cali wine country and invite his mom, sister, my mom and step-dad to stay at a B&B with us. So because of our new plans I will wear the Gemma for the ceremony and photos, but now I’m thinking of a “reception” dress for afterwards going out to dinner. I’m thinking a knee-length lace dress…with sleeves. Since some of you have been on the JBS boards longer than I have been, have you seen JBS do any short lace dresses? I would love to see some photos if you have any!

@Aussiemum:

Yes yes, we have actually been extremely busy due to surge of orders from bridal salons and non-English speaking customers who are not on WB 🙂

And good luck with the planning of all those events, you really got your hands full!!

So, along the lines of China dresses, has anyone seen this dress before?  It was floating around pinterest until I came across it on etsy, as a dress that can be made from a Chinese dress maker who’s usename is wonderxue.  Has anyone had this made, know who it is originally by, etc.? Also, I figure Jasmine’s could probably make the same dress, what do you all think?

Hi Ladies,

I have done a marathon read of all 5 versions of this thread today! Maybe you would all be so kind to give me your advice or opinions?

I too am seriously considering being a JBS bride as the wedding dress I am besotted with is £5000!! Seeing as I didnt win the lottery at the weekend, buying the designer version is way out of my budget!

So here’s the dress i love its “Mimosa” Jenny packham

I WISH I’D NEVER SEEN IT!!

I tried the designer sample on and even though it was 2 sizes too big it was like wearing magic!

I emailed JBS before I tried on the dress and the super helpful James said they could make it but the lace will deffo be different.

I wonder how different? What have your experiences been with lace, did you get to select it? how did it look when you revcieved the real dress? and how did it feel?

This dress was very light.

My Bridesmaid or Best Man managed to take a quite a few photos of the actual dress so I have sent another email to JBS to see if they can still do it as it was FAR more heavily sequinned in real life than the pictures show, and i havent seen a great deal of sequin work on their website. Am I right to be this apprehensive?

I’m still waiting on the email but i only sent it a few days ago, and I know they must be rushed off their feet, If they come back and say its a no-go Ill forget about Mimosa, but until then I just dont know!

Hi guys! I’m not currently having anything made by Jasmine’s, but I’m thinking about it for the future. I’ve read all 5 of these threads and I’ve been loving them.

My engagement isn’t official yet, but I found a dress a while ago and was so enamored with it that I figured I’d email Jasmine’s just to ask them if they thought it would be possible for them to make– I just wanted to know ahead of time so I wouldn’t get my heart set on something for a long time and then get disppointed when the time comes and I find out it’s impossible, y’know?

Anyway, I got an email back (from James, I’m presuming) and it turns out that they’re currently making my dress for someone else! What are the odds?! It’s from Elie Saab’s Autumn/Winter 2011 couture show, so I wasn’t really expecting that anyone else would be ordering it now, but I’m really excited that they’re currently making one! They said they’ll send pics to me in a month or two. Here’s the dress:

What do you think? It’s different and I love it. I hunted down all of the images of this dress I could find online and created a pinterest board. I sent it to JBS and they said that the photos I had found were far more detailed than the one the other client had sent and after getting a better idea of what the dress *actually* looked like, it ended up raising the price of the replica for the client who had ordered it. Oooops….. Embarassed

I know other posters on WB have gotten warnings about not expecting perfect Elie Saab replicas from JBS just because they’re so involved and complex, and the materials are different… but I think they have a pretty good shot at doing this one really well. The actual shape of the dress isn’t too complicated, it’s mostly just the beading that’s difficult, and I’ve heard (and seen!) that JBS is amazing with beading. So I think their chances of success with this dress are actually pretty good.

Here are the other photos:

@beanowl:

Hi there, correction: other client’s price was already set, we wouldn’t raise it because we are still using her photos for her replica.  But I was saying *your* replica will most likely cost more than hers, due to more clear photos we will use to replicate against for the 2nd time (if it comes to that) 🙂  Just want to clarify, hehe, thanks!

By The Way, this dress is a MONSTER for the beading details, and we are slowly working our way to completion, inch by inch :S
