Got the first draft pictures of my dress today from Jasmine’s and I am super excited! I was at lunch when I saw them and was glad I could download a .zip app for my iPhone so I could look at them!
Opinions are greatly appreciated – I’ll mention the changes I noticed and will give to Jasmine’s, but if you guys see anything extra, please say so!
The changes I see:
1.) The sash that attaches at the shoulder is actually uneven on the original dress. There are two “ends” that come down, one is around knee length and the other goes down to the floor (look closely in first original pic. I have a better shot of the original on my iPhone that I will send to them.)
2.) The ruching on the waist should come up to the bust seam (it looks to stop a few centimeters below that seam in Jasmine’s pictures.)
3.) The piece of fabric across the bust and over the shoulder looks like it could use a little more scrunching/folding/ruching.
4.) The area around the zipper looks a little puckered – wonder if this will be fixed with steaming.
(Please note I did not request or want the buttons on the original dress – just wanted a hidden zipper.)
Here are my inspiration shots of the Romona Keveza L260 dress:

@Minnow: Very elegant dress. The height of the waist band looks OK to me it appears to end right under the bra cups.

Wow! Very nice replica!
I see the puckering around the zipper, but I have no idea if steaming will fix it or if it’s something they can address.
I think the height of the ruching at the waist is good. It looks like the seam at the bust is curved, which might be throwing the look off a little bit.

Very Pretty!! I cant help but stare at the weird ruching at the bust on the second replica picture.. for some reason its making a weird half moon shape like its not pinned, tacked, or sewn correctly. otherwise BEAUTIFUL!!

You are really selling me on Jasmines Bridal. The dress look fabulous!

So Pretty, I love that dress!

I think it looks great! I do think the ruching may need to be raised about a 1/2 inch, but other than that it looks great. I think the puckering at the zipper will be gone after steaming and once it’s on a human body rather than a mannequin.

Looks great! I hope when you receive it you take pictures for us to see!!

@Minnow: Beautiful, that is really almost there for mid production. Well done Jasmines. I agree you need to raise the issues you mentioned, but also agree the puckering at the zipper will probably steam out. But ask the question.
Looking forward to seeing the updated photos.

Beautiful dress 🙂
From reading your comment and previous posts, I’m a bit confused about number 2. Do you mean:
A) There’s a gap between where the ruching meets the bustline OR
B) You want to raise the bustline
I think you mean A but just want to make sure I’m understanding you correctly

@babecake: I definately see what you are referring to as A. I don’t think the bustline (B) needs to be raised.

I think my wording was pretty bad 😀 Babecake, you had it right with option “A” – there’s a gap where the ruching meets the bustline. 🙂 (In the original the ruching at the waist meets right up under the bust.) I made a note and sent it to Jasmine’s
I’ve had a really great experience with them so far! They’ve been ahead of schedule, super communicative, and I love love love the way the dress is turning out!
I promise I will do so!
Thanks everyone, I will add to this thread when I get the next set of pictures – I’m not sure what more they could fix after that! 🙂
