@magicmoments:  I’m not sure. When I ordered my dress, I didn’t know they had thick and thin organza. I can send James an email and find out. Or maybe hiheel knows?

@tckn:  I will leave the main comments to the experts but my first question is:  With a change of neckline to sweetheart…. where can you put the feathers?  I think it will change the total look of the neckline.

Second question is…. How tall are you?  This also affects the look of the dress.  The model will be at least 5’9″ to possible 6′ and may also be standing on a pedestal which will make the skirt look different.  There appears to be less length from the start of the V shape of the skirt compared to the original dress, but this may be because you are not as tall.

I also still cannot clearly read your instructions, even though you have posted them again, but from your drawing black lines, I think that Jasmines version is closer to the original than your lines.  But I may be wrong.

I can’t see the ruching under the bust properly in the photo, so this may be an issue.  There could be some improvements made in the layering of the skirt, but I will leave that to the experts to comment on.

Overall, I think the dress is on the right path as these are your first mid production photos.

@tckn:  Since it’s only a mid-production picture, they usually don’t add feathers and other intricate details until you approve the “base” of the dress. But it doesn’t hurt to get James to confirm that.

@tckn:  since it is your first midproduction photos, the feathers are not attached, it will be done later. Imagine them making changes AND removing the feathers now.

@Aussiemum:  I have to agree with aussiemum. I think the feathers will look a bit odd on a sweetheart neckline

@Aussiemum:  I am 5″1 hence I asked James to start the flare higher.  I think the V shape from Jasmine is better but I think since I am short I would intent to ask them to keep the V shape but bring it higher where the black line mark is

@babecake:  That’s comforting to know that, I was worry where the feathers gone.  But the lace should overlay the edge of the organza where it attached the skirt and currently it doesn’t

Ok, I understand your issue with the start of the V, but looking at the front of the dress, Jasmines has STARTED the V shape at the right height, but what you want is a WIDER V shape.

I think you will have to really think about the sweetheart neckline, the only place they can put the feathers is on either side of the bust.  Is that what you want?

The original photos you posted do not adequately show the full back of the dress so it would be hard to work out how high you wanted the back of the V shape to commence.  Did you draw the start of the V shapes when you sent your order in to Jasmines?

Also, I am only 5’2″ tall, not really much taller than you, and unfortunately being ‘height challenged’ does change the look of the dress overall especially when the dress is cut in half at the mid thigh point, this will leave you with a lot less ruffels length wise than the original. Also it will affect how the ruffels look and the flow of them.

Sorry but I cannot comment on the lace issue as I really can’t see it clearly in the photo and I have reverted to my reading glasses as wellFrown.  But I am sure that will not be a problem.

Interested to hear some other comments.  Babecake may be you can do one of your tricks with putting the original and Jasmines dresses side by side, you are so good at that.

@Aussiemum:  Happy to do the side-by-side comparison pics. I might see if I can redo your inspiration pic- when I first saw it I thought it was a one strap dress. Silly me.

Do you think it would be more beneficial to use a non-marked up version of your mid production pics? I find the lines kinda distracting?

@babecake:  Yep, I KNOW I KNOW Smile I asked James and he informed me that it has both thick and thin.  I didn’t bother with samples as I requested an identical version of your dress.

When ordering from Jasmines, do they make the dress according to your height or do they make a standard length that you must then alter after receiving? I am also 5’1 and am considering getting my dress made by them.
