Hey Bees,

Here is the finished dress. I could use some eyes to point out any imperfections. So far I see the bodice line isn’t straight above the left breast. I just can’t tell if its a crease the occured naturally on the mannequin or to bring it up in case it was sewn that way? And also the creases on the skirt on the bottom right side seem tinier but it appears to be creases that could be steamed out. Any other observations would be helpful.

@SweetSister:  I agree with hiheel, the first option is really beautiful, my second choice is the third option.  The second is also beautiful, but not the same style as the other to.

Important:  Have you tried on these styles?  This is critical because what looks good on a model rarely looks good on us actual women.

“Chicken Fillets” is the way to go.

@Mrs.Mods:  I think hiheel has answered your concerns.  If you have gone designer/designer, ask lots of questions.

It does look like soe of the lace that sits above the the neckline is not evenly placed.  But this may also be the photograph’s angle.

Really, it is a stunning dress and I can’t wait to see it on you.

OK Ladies, it’s my turn.  Here are the mid production photographs of the Junior Bridesmaid dress – still to be beaded.

I am really happy with the style and shape of the skirt especially.  But I am concerned about the method used to attach the straps.  I asked for detachable straps because I thought it would be easier to alter if they were too long/short as we really have no time for major alterations.

QUESTION:  Do you think I should ask James to place a small flower beaded section on the two front areas of the dress where the straps attach?

Or do you think it will look Ok after it is steamed?

Really not sure how the straps will attach/detach.  I will certainly be asking James this question.

EEEEEEEEeeeeeeEEEE!!!! I’m so so so excited! I just submited an email to Jasmine’s to see if it is at all possible for my crazy mashup of a dress to be created reasonably!!

I’m asking them to use the silhouette of one dress, the neckline and beading of another, and the lace of a final dress. I’ve attached some pictures for ya’ll to see. I AM SO EXCITED!!

This is the neckline and bodice beading I want to use.

This is the silhouette/shape of the dress I want to use (front above, back below)

And finally, the fabic/lace/overall feel I’d like incorporated (I have this dress on another thread, someone on here helped me find the designer of this one below!):

Have I mentioned how crazy excited I am about this?!?!?!

Looking forward to receiving an email back hopefully before the weekend.

YAY!

Edited: I just wrote back regarding my dress –  and the automated email I got back advised me that Jasmines will be closed from Feb. 2 to Feb. 23

My brain just exploded! Tell me it isn’t so!

@Aussiemum:  Thankyou 🙂

Lovely dress, the colour is great, and the style is very appropriate for a junior bridesmaid.
Unfortunately I don’t like the look of the straps in the front, I think perhaps the flower applique might help, as you were thinking, but if I were ordering I would ask for them to be sewn properly to the front, so it was a nice smooth join but not sewn to the back. That way you can adjust the straps to fit the junior bridesmaid, and either quickly sew or pin yourself.

MY TURN TO RANT AND RAVE YellYell

We had our first dress alteration fitting yesterday (remember I made my daughter’s dress slightly larger because in those early days I didn’t fully trust Jasmines – STUPID ME.

Well, guess what…. The alterations lady has lost my daughter’s underskirt.  She provided some old used underskirt to try on the altered dress.

Apparently, she cannot remember where it is… she said she probably took it to the bridal shop that she works forYell.  I call today and asked her if she has found it… NO.  She is going to the bridal shop on Thursday and will look for it.

Then she gets annoyed with me when I told her that my daughter doesn’t want to wear a second hand underskirt, that is why I had one made especially for her dress.  If we wanted a second hand one, we would have hired one from the bridal shop.Yell

WTF…….  We left the underskirt with her to be altered to match the final length of the dress.  HOW CAN SHE GIVE IT AWAY!!!!!

@Aussiemum:

Wow.  She’d better find it or pay for you to get another!
