Hi guys..so I want a the gemma skirt but with a little bit more drama. I am thinking of doing it with a mark zunino top as seen in the picture. I will also like to add some sparkles. Is that a good idea or not and where can i add them? Any suggestions? Thanks

@JasminesBridal

Haha, yeah, it’s a tricky one! I went to a fabric shop today and couldn’t find anything that really seemed like the original. They had Georgette fabric and it was ok, (it had a nice depth to it) but it felt kind of coarse. Beauty felt very smooth. I suppose how it feels doesn’t really matter though, as long as it looks the part!

I will put my trust in you guys. I’m sure you’ll find what works best all round 🙂

I’m waiting for my reply from Jasmine’s and I’m too excited. I check my email all the time. I’ve got over a year yet, but i’m still excited.

Hi Bees!  Jasmine’s just sent me mid-production photos of my dress and I wanted to get any thoughts you might have.  The original basis was the Allure 8917 – but I wanted to add a corset back and lace straps.  If there are any fixes to be made, I’d appreciate your input!!

Original dress here:

And here are mid-production photos:

As far as I can tell, the only things I want to follow up on are: (1) The neck seems really high – it doesn’t look like it scoops very much, so I might want it deeper, (2) the flower detail on the waist obviously needs to be finished, (3) I am assuming the corset back comes with a modesty panel so that the inner corset strap doesn’t show, and (4) the dress looks kind of squat (I do have a 36F bust but the dress still looks short) so I’ll ask James to re-check measurements.

Anything else you Bees notice?  Thanks in advance for your help!!!

@swizzles25:  I love this but I wouldnt add much spartle aside from a beaded belt. Its a busy dress….

@swizzles25:  I agree with the pp, it’s gorgeous as is, and I think adding too much bling wiloo overwhelm it. Perhaps a beaded belt or some crystals in the rosettes of the skirt? Or maybe a veil with some bling? Something subtle would probably work best. Can’t wait to see it! Keep us updated!

@essiesstyle:  I agree with the neck looking really high, it’s the first thing I noticed but it may bon how ur measurements transcribed, and it just looks silly on the manikin. I love the lace placement though it looks stunning.
