That is ridiculous! We also didn’t see many reasonably-priced platinum rings in bricks-and-mortar jewelry stores and got ours from Blue Nile with the 10% off promo. That really is an amazing website. And I LOVE how my band looks with my e-ring (also from Blue Nile!).

@corgi: These are my rings – they’re not a matching set as far as I’m aware. I don’t have any photos of me wearing both – I’m a bit superstitious about that!

PS I think the band you ended up choosing was one of my top choices too 🙂

Though no one quoted us 4 grand for a platinum ring, every store we went to was $2000+ for the same ring made in platinum.

I highly recommend online stores as well.  My engagement ring is from James Allen and my wedding band if from the http://www.facetscollection.com (an eternity channel set band, that cost us a little over $1,000, all platinum, ideal cut diamonds, 30 day return policy, no taxes, and 10% discount for military or veterans!)

That’s so interesting!! I love the selection on blue nile as well. My friend actually couldn’t find her perfect ring on there but she actually just wanted a very thin version of one they already have so she called them up and then made a custom piece for her for the same price (I think) so that might be worth considering if the band you have ordered isn’t right.

My e-ring is from Blue Nile, in platinum. It did not have a matching band, so I was going to have one custom made. And then I got quotes, and was, like, uh, nevermind. So, my husband got got my platinum band with a promo code from Blue Nile for like $800 and I loooove it! I’m a big fan of Blue Nile!

Gorgeous set! I’m sure the rings will look beautiful together. Plus, nothing beats a great deal!

And btw, I heard never buy rings from the mall jewelery stores because everything is marked up so much to pay the expensive mall lease/rent and insurance. Glad you found what you wanted!

I love Blue Nile, too! Fiance got my ring from there, and I plan on getting our wedding bands from there, as well 🙂

Oh can’t wait to see the rings Corgi!! And yes… most B&M jewelers DO suck, IMO. Online is definitely the way to go! I really like that marquise/rb eternity… I wonder which one you will end up liking more!
