Confession. I haven’t purchased a “nice” bathing suit in… well, ever. I actually went almost 5 years without really needing one- occasionally I would pick up a cheap one for a vacation, but nothing major.
For some reason, though, my honeymoon just seems like the time to have nice bathing suits.
I ordered 2 from J.Crew, and they came in today. The two-piece was great, but the one piece made me sad.
They offer D-cup sizing, which is great b/c I wear a 36D.
The body fit fine, but the cups were HUGE. No way I could keep them from showing my bits.
Also, the straps aren’t adjustable, and are removable…. ie. too long and will probably fall off when I don’t want them to.
It made me very, very sad, because I ooh-ed and ahh-ed at this pretty bathing suit for months.
Oh well. Back to the search.

What a gorgeous swimsuit! Too bad about the cups. 🙁

It is a cute swimsuit. Did you see the other thread (now in NWR) about swimsuits and large boobs (“I hate my boobs”)?

This swimsuit is the answer to any problems. I have it in the blue….it’s amazing!

@jayce: It really was upsetting. J.Crew is notorious in their dresses for running small, so I assumed that D-cup was the way to go. Clearly not the case.
At least the 2-piece fits well. I got a tie back halter (also D-cup, but no underwire or padding) and a skirted bottom, and I love it!

J.Crew suits have always fit me poorly, no matter the style. i always find that the butt bubbles in a really weird way… so i stay away. i just ordered this one piece from Anthro that has gotten a million rave reviews, is apparently fantastic for large and small busted girls, can’t go wrong from the sound of it! read all the reviews, they are very helpful. its on back order til march 4th but that’s only a couple weeks away. I hope it looks as good as everyone makes it sound! its obviously very popular (been on backorder a couple times) so its gotta be good. i’ll be wearing it on our 1st marriage anniversary vacation to saint martin in a few months!!!

@tinylittlebird: You have problems with dresses running small too? I’m sort of relieved to hear that- I bought a dress the other day and it fits like a sausage casing. I tried on an older j crew dress (bought 4-5 years ago) with a similar shape and it’s big.

@maureen9004: Yeah, I read somewhere that many of their dresses are cut in the bust for a B-cup.
