I would not ask my BM’s to spend $250 on a dress that is not of their choosing. If you can get it on sale, it might be ok, depending on the sale price.

$250 is a pretty staggering amount of money for most young women. I wouldn’t ask them to pay for that. It’s kind of a lot for anyone. Honestly, I wouldn’t be able to be a bridesmaid if that was the cost of the dress.

JCrew has some great sales, though, and you might be able to find what you want that way.

The Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses for my wedding are from JCrew. Thankfully we bought them back in July when my color in the dress I really loved  went on sale for $99.99!

I also have a few dresses I bought for other occasions and they fit very well and are true to size but if you have a very busty girl, you should let her know that she may want to order a size up for the chest and just get the waist taken in. We had that problem with one of my BM’s but luckily another Bridesmaid or Best Man lost weight and they just swtiched haha.

But I feel like $250 is an awful lot to spend on a dress. I think it’s a gorgeous dress but I would keep looking out for sales. My older sister/MOH is in her friends wedding the day after mine and it is also JCrew and it was $265. They had some sort of promotion and she ended up getting it for $187.

But it says you aren’t getting married until next June so you definitely have time to see if they go on sale or clearance which the most likely will at the end of the season. But if they don’t and they continue to stay at the priceof $250, I would look for some alternatives because someof your BM’s may not be able to afford it.

I was recently in a wedding with J Crew bridesmaid dresses. One good thing about them is that they had free shipping if your order was over a certain amount (which yours would be with one dress), and a really easy return policy. You can take things back to any JCrew store. So all of the bridesmaids each ordered several styles/sizes, had them shipped for free, and then returned all the ones we didn’t want to our local stores. I recommend that, because then you could essentially see how all the dresses looked and fit without committing to them.

My sister had us BMs get JCrew dresses but the sale timing worked out and it came to $109 total.  Yeah 250 is kind of high.

I often get emails from jcrew for 20 or even 30% off…which is significant for a $250 dress. But also, the dresses do go on sale, so like a pp said, you have time to wait and see.

Also, the URL you posted is broken so I couldn’t see the lovely dress!
