What is stopping you from proposing to him?  I know a few girls who got sick of waiting and popped the question to their SOs, and it worked out great for all the couples.

I totally felt this when my best friend got engaged (for the SECOND time since my boyfriend and I had been together lol obvi the first time didn’t work out but ughhh) I seriously like couldn’t breathe for a few mintues, then my other friend actually called me and was like DO NOT feel bad that you’re kinda pissed/happy because I know that’s how you’re feeling!! I got over it in a few days and of course never let my bff know that I was anything but happy. It’s easy to feel hurt. My bf (now fianceeee) actually already had a ring, which I didn’t know, and he was super annoyed when he saw how upset I was b/c he figured I’d be next. (btw bf was 31 I was 28 and we’d been together just short of 6 years before getting engaged, so I did my share of waiting). Try not to stress. You’ll forget ever feeling this way soon enough! Don’t beat yourself up 🙂

The time it takes to get engaged has nothing to do with how much love someone has, I think we get way too caught up in these ideas and try to compare and put meaning on everything. Everyone is different, you know if your boyfriend loves you, that’s between you two and his brother’s engagement has no weight on your relationship. My SO’s sister got engaged after 5 months, but they weren’t really ready for marriage and still haven’t set a date a year and a half later. We will be together 2 years or more before SO proposes to me, but only because I know he needs to feel completely ready in all aspects including financially. Just try not to compare yourself or your relationship, I know how hard that can be trust me but it’s toxic for a relationship.

Wanttogetwed: When the time is right he’ll propose to you. It happened to me trust me Lol you’ll be glad that he didn’t rush anything like many couples do nowadays. Just keep in mind that he loves you very much and that you two don’t have to do exactly what everyone else is doing 🙂 every couple doesn’t work the same way.

thenextmrsk:  I’ve never met a girl who has proposed to her boyfriend. I think that’s brave!
