I know its all about the marriage and all about love and that at the end no matter what I’ll have a husband I love more than anything. I would have been fine just going to the courthouse BUT going to the courthouse was never an option for my family so they gave me a generous budget for which I am very grateful and I started planning, well I have a confession. I get really jealous of a lot of other brides out there. I’m sure my wedding will be beautiful but I can’t help but look at other venues and think “wow I want that!” or read peoples menus and think “Yum! I want that!” You get the picture! Anyone else have similar feelings???

Sometimes I wish I had the budget to create a HUGE wedding and buy all my decorations and everything. There were actually these centerpieces I REALLY wanted, but they would have been $400 for the 15 tables I needed. I think my wedding will be nice though and since I’m hand making almost everything I am so busy!
So far I have made the invitations, bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, and beadwork for the cake decorations. I still need to do the cake topper, the wishing well cards (butterfly shaped), the flower girl’s “baskets” (which are butterfly nets), dye my shoes purple, finish the centerpieces, and make about 150 tissue paper flowers and paper butterflies for the table decoration. My sister made the favor boxes and filled them with butterfly wildflower seed mix (we are getting married in a garden and our theme is butterfly). Oh and I need to sew my dinner rehersal dress here soon.
By the time the wedding gets here I will appreciate the break!

I am with you. I am having an amazing wedding (well at least in my mind) and my parents are helping out, however we still do not have an unlimited budget. I have an old friend who just got engaged and she is the only child and her parents have been planning and saving for this wedding since she has been born. Money is no object and she has picked the most amazing venue and a dress double my budget. I think it’s normal to have a little envy as long as you realize how lucky you are to have your own wedding as well.

I feel that way sometimes. We’re paying for over half of everything ourselves and we just don’t have the money for a lot of the “normal” stuff like a dj or a cake. And we’re really cutting back in other areas like alcohol, food, etc. Sucks but it is what it is. I don’t let myself dwell on it because we were never going to have the money to do all that.
