I ordered a dress from Jeff Liu and I was majorly disappointed. I have also found other brides to have mixed feelings and the need to have their dress remade to their liking or to have the dress returned.

I would suggest to avoid this problem and use other trustworthy sites.

I have never heard of Jasminesbridalshop.com.

Millysbridal is excellent- sometimes they take a long time so if you have time then go for it.

Coralsbridal is wonderful- they have a great page

Dressilyme is excellent- I used them for 2 dresses for my 2 weddings and I am 100% happy

Monicasbridal and babyonline on dhgate have great reviews also. So you might want to check them out.

Good luck and I hope you can find a company you can trust.

I personally had a great experience with Jeff Liu! I ordered a satin dress though, unlike adw2c, whose dress was tulle/lace (and I saw her pics and agree that it definitely wasn’t the quality she was looking for).

might be a good place to start, you can see a lot of existing reviews. Mine is in there somewhere. 🙂

I emailed Jasmine’s Bridal when I was going to go the replica route (I don’t think I am anymore), they were among my top choices for replica makers. They sent me a ton of pictures that looked really nice. I believe they are on facebook now with a lot of real photos, so maybe look those up to see how they turned out! Hope this helps.

I ordered a St. Pucchi gown from Jeff Liu! BUT, I did not want any crystals on it whasoever, I loved the style of the gown, not the crystals.

I am 100% happy with my dress, Jeff Liu did a great job. HOWEVER, I can not stress enough that when buying a “custom” dress it is impossible for the gown to look similar to the original. The beading/crystals will be different, it will be a different pattern, it very well may not even look like the original at all, so please be aware of this.

I recommend Jeff Liu highley, but you should know that majority of brides who ordered a dress from China that had beading/crystals were not as pleased as those who choose to get more simple dresses made.

Here is my St.Pucchi (first 2 are the original w/ the crystals) the last are mine w/ no crystals.

From what I can gather, replica dresses that are based on simple designs with very little detailing are the ones most women are satisfied with. If your dress has a lot of detail and intricate beading or lacework, it would probably be best to buy the designer dress or find another option. Most of the beading is done in sequins with the Chinese replica dresses, which definitely doesn’t look as nice, and they seem to not use as high quality lace as designers either, which affects the look. If the dress is simple and silhouette based, the Chinese replicas usually nail it. The detail is where they fall short.

I thought the same before i ordered my dress from Jeff Liu, but unfortunately i have to disagree now. My inspiration dress was very simple ( Watters Celaya), no beading or other difficult details, but it turned out horrible. The main problem was the cheap plastic-like fabric ( which looked and even smelled ugly), crooked and partly loose seems and the bust had plastic beading glued on instead of lace. Totally terrible! I don’t know JasmineBridal, but based on my own experience and recent awful reviews i definately DO NOT recommend Jeff Liu.

If i may answer that: adw2c is not a competitor but a bride and an unhappy Jeff Liu customer. And i think it’s great that she takes the time to leave her feedback in all those Replica threads.

@bonitasecrets: I ordered from Jeff & am still awaiting my dress. He has promised me photos w/in a week, so I cannot vouch for him yet. I do know his reviews are somewhat mixed though- I’ve seen both horrible & beautiful dresses done by him. @adw2c had a horrible experience with him & he never refunded her fully- I believe the only negative comments she’s left on the china dress threads have been in regards to him only.

My only tips on this experience so far 1) Do your research on the fabrics they’ll use, which dressmaker specializes or fails in that fabric. 2) Give yourself longer than you need. I was quoted 2 weeks, it’s been over a month now, plus I’ll probably still have it slightly altered after I get it. Good luck!

I don’t have any experience with ordering a replica dress, but I have read so many posts with reviews that are way too mixed for me to ever feel comfortable putting myself at risk like that.  And when planning a wedding, there is SO much to stress about, I just can’t imagine not knowing how your dress is going to turn out being thrown in the mix!  GAAAAHHH!

I just wanted to offer that I also could not afford my dream dress, a Vera Wang mermaid, and I was able to purchase it at 70% off because it’s “once wed.”  There are many sites that have classifieds for dresses too, like WB and Project Wedding, and a quick search of your dress name may pull some things up.

But the main 2 sites that I stalked while wedding dress shopping in stores and being unable to find anything similar to my dream dress were 1.) preownedweddingdresses.com  2.) Oncewed.com.

It was mildly stressful not knowing exactly how it would fit, and I did have to have some minor alterations, but it was in pristine condition, had been cleaned by Prescilla’s of Boston for like $400 or something, and it was the FABULOUS quality and gorgeous design that Vera Wang is known for.

So I would recommend that.  At least you know that it’s the dress you want, and you may have to have it altered, but it’s THE DRESS.

I hate reading all of the bad reviews (but am very happy for the bees that had success!), because it seems that they never get a full refund.  This Jeff Liu person seems to think that giving 80% refunds is okay when he can’t do what he said he could???  INSANITY.  Even if you only lose out on 20% of like $300, that’s still $60 you could have put toward something else!!!  That’s a pair of shoes!  But he just took it!

Save yourself the stress, and just find it used.  I swear, it’s not that hard and you know what you’re getting.

Here is my “Once Wed” Vera, and I don’t think anyone could replicate the quality and detail:

@jholler25:

Yours is gorgeous! My review for Jeff Liu is all negative. I only received a 50% refund and he didn’t do anything he said he would. I say stay clear from him. I am starting to wonder how he ended up in that book. Who did he pay? You shouldn’t have to go through heartache.

On a positive note I ordered 2 dresses from Dressilyme.com and all have been perfect. I am 100% happy with them and their service. Other good companies.

Corals bridal

millys bridal

monicasbridal and babyonline on dhgate

mybigfatwedding

Those are the ones I have heard many positives from, however I can only vouch for my company.

@jholler25:

Did you buy it just like that or did you have to have it altered?  You look fan-tass-tique
