@TiaDon:

I would say that I am one of the bad reviews for him. However I would add that I did see on dress beautifully made with a mix. Its hard to find a dressmaker that will mix different pieces and do it effectively.

  • What I will suggest to you if you decide to go with him is to get him to post a listing on ebay. I paid directly through paypal and didn’t get the ebay protection because of it and he wasn’t honorable enough to provide a refund.

He offered to remake my dress in 7 days but I figured if he couldn’t do it in 45 days then why would he be able to do it perfectly in 7 days?

  • Also if he extends his deadline for any reason you must cover yourself because ebay and paypal don’t cover you over that short 30 or 40 day time frame.

Also count on paypal not covering a custom item. I wasn’t allowed coverage and many other haven’t because you can’t prove it isn’t what you asked for.

  • Another suggestion would be to ask for a picture of your dress for confirmation. That way you can change any detail that wasn’t to your liking.

He ended up giving me back only $100 of the $299 I spent on the dress. I had to sell the dress for $100 on ebay and it really wasn’t even worth that. So yes MY a bad experience. However, I will add that some OTHERS aren’t.

I say all this to you because finding anoher designer with a multiple of images will be difficult and he might be able to do a good job. I just want you to not go through the trouble I did if it doesn’t go well. These were my lessons learned.

Here is my review and my pictures are at the very end. I will say that I wasn’t an impossible customer and my expectations were reasonable. If you have time to read through my review then you can. If not please just look at the pictures towards the end.

Totally have a bunch of spelling mistakes there! Anyways to you I wish good luck. Hopefully you will see some positive pics from others. However, its always good to be prepared on how to deal with a salesman. Especially in the case of your wedding. I hope your dress turns out as wonderfully as you imagine.

Do not use Jeff Lui if you have any lace on your dress because they don’t use lace instead they just use embroidery over netting or mesh or somehting and it look terrible. If you are getting your dress different aspects of several dresses put together then you need someone who speaks perfect English and can understand you very well so that you get the end result that you want. I did just what you are trying to do and I used Shades of Pale http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Shades-of-Pale-Bridal-The-Little-Velvet-Box/196879553692866?sk=wall&filter=1 They speak perfect English and asked tons of questions about what I wanted and gave me lots of options and were so helpful through that process. They also show you lots of pictures of the dresses they actually make.

@USAandKSA:

Well then I agree with you! I had lace and I had the terribile mesh that was like clear cardboard. I have also seen a few shiny looking satin gowns. I personally wouldn’t go with this guy.

Glad to see there are other options for girls using mulitple images.

Oh and his English isn’t good. I mean I understand its a different culture. Trust me I get it. But despite the language the communication was horrible. I don’t care how fast someone can get back to me. He didn’t listen or consider my position.

So I agree with USAandKSA. Just give shades of pale a shot. I haven’t tried them but see how the communication goes and then decide.

@adw2c: I have read so many reviews about there not being lace on his dresses just that tacky mesh/netting stuff that the only conclusion that I could come to was that they don’t use lace at all. But what shocked me about your JeffLiu disaster is that there was only sequines and no beading at all. That was terrible but your dressilymes were both perfect.

@USAandKSA:

Thanks. Yeah the sequin was very tacky. The material was my biggest dissapointment.

As for Shades of Pale, they have some beautiful stuff on their website. I really liked how you can see the actual dress. Thats a plus for any site.

I just ordered my dream dress through Jeff Liu and I was really excited because most of his reviews were good, but it has turned into a nightmare.  I ordered a Vera Wang White Dress that cost about $1300 new at David’s Bridal. He charged me only $339.00. It took about a month to produce, but the shipping was fast and he provided a tracking number.  When I got the dress the first thing I noticed was that the fabric was horrible!!!  It was a shiny cheap material, but I thought maybe I could get over it, until I tried it on.  To begin with, it was about two inches too big (I had heard that they ran big so I had purposely ordered an inch smaller than I needed, so I guess it really came three inches to big). The dress also had huge gaps in the fabric where entire layers of ruffles were missing and you could see the core of the dress. The ruffles that were there were barely attached.  The seams were also completely obvious and ugly.  What really set it over the edge was that once I took the dress off I noticed several spots of BLOOD on the dress that looked like someone had pricked themselves and tried to wipe it off.  There were also several things randomly sewn into it: I found a couple of stickers and some rocky type things that had been sewn in between the folds so I couldn’t get them out.  After I demanded a partial $260 refund, he refused and I ended up having to threaten him repeatedly to end up with $200. These are just a few pictures of this terrible dress.  I’m not sure how it even got out of the shop like this.

@UXOR:

Thats the kind of crap I had too! He also over charged me for the dress and the look was nothing like described over the mail.The material wasn’t even the same as promised!

I wouldn’t dress my sweet doggy in that rough cheap material.
