OK me and my partner are trying to work out a honeymoon. We want to do something that we may not be able to do later easily (we can pop to Tuscany with kids, but I don’t fancy 24hour flights with toddlers!)
We are in the UK so we think we are either going right (China/Japan/Aus/etc) or Left (America/Carribean/etc)
If we go right, I found this amazing place called Jellyfish Lake in Palau. They have no stingers! 😀
Has anyone been to this place? If so, please tell me!
We’d probably also go the great barrier reef to snorkel too 🙂
Or, we could go to the states 🙂
I would ADORE to see New York and shop (I am a BIG shopper!) and see all the sites! 😀
And Florida has some pretty good things to do too… too many to name! 😀
Ooohh I don’t know!
We like the sound of the states but I would regret it forever if I never got to swim with those jellies…
Too difficult 🙂
Anyone live/been to these places or have better ideas? We want to hear it all! Thank you 🙂
Also, I made the poll multiple incase you though we could don extras too! Like Palau and Japan, or something.

I would go right, for sure. I feel like that is more of a once in a lifetime experience, whereas New York is a city you could probably make it to sometime later in your life. Plus, does your FI really want to spend his honeymoon shopping?
Florida is great, but it isn’t the great barrier reef!!

Jellyfish and Great Barrier Reef blow Florida away any day. Florida is not the same wow factor at all. Not even close.

Oohh that sounded so one more sided than I meant it! 😀 He actually is a pretty good eprson and also loves shopping, and while I like to think it’d be a fortnight of shopping, in life it’d only be a day or two and we do the big sites 🙂 He loves NY and I’ve never been, but like you say, once in a life time is the other way! 🙂

@fishbone Seriously? I was expecting it to be amazing! With all these natural dolphin encounters and those big things (manatees?)
Thank you! 🙂 x

Australia all the way!! I’m a little biased though because I live here. Japan is amazing as well though. in Western Australia you can swim with whale sharks depending on the time of year.

@LeopardPrintBee: if u go to Florida my cn still snorkel and go to Disney/ universal studios which is extremely fun nt to mention u cn find incredible deals

@LeopardPrintBee: Haha, I understand.
For what its worth my family and I used to go to Florida every year (sometimes a couple of times per year) for vacations and I’ve never seen a manatee there :-/

Being from the states, I’d go to Palau. I grew up in NY so while I agree it’s a nice city, you can do that more easily whenever you like. Going to Palau and Australia, for me, would be a once in a lifetime trip.

How much time do you have?
East and south east Asia bound will be great too! Also what season of the year are you honeymooning? If its spring or autumn you will love Japan! Come come! But don’t come in summer it’s way too humid and hot to walk around outside.
Season is something to think about. There’s rainy season in Asia and probably in Palau as wellIf that limits your activity and animal activities! Are these jellies active when you are there?

@LeopardPrintBee: Jellyfish, definitely! You could always go on a babymoon to New York before you start TTC.
Post # 13
@BridieBea a babymoon! I LOVE that idea! 😀
It’s September so I’m not sure if that’s a particularly good time to snorkel in Aus as it’s the end of winter, I believe?
We have a fortnight and want to be busy but not exhausted when we get back! 😀
And I definitely LOVE to swim with whale sharks! 😀
Thank you all! x

- Wedding: October 2014 - Savannah, GA
@LeopardPrintBee: I think it’s going to be difficult to get unbiased opinions since most on weddingbee are from the states. Most people don’t want to honeymoon in the country they live.

@gramgeek I was a little worried about getting around Asia without a translator and not speaking any of the languages!
I have been to Thailand but we were with a thai woman, so that helped and we just got herded about 🙂

@dancindavinci yes that is a good point. I suppose I was also hoping for people who lived there having good ideas about amazebobs stuff we could do 🙂
Tell me you’re coming to the UK and I’m all over places you can go! 😀
