Here is my experience of purchasing a dress from JEN JEN House.
A few things to note:
– This is not a designer dress.
– It will not look exactly like the picture.
– I chose a dress that seemed like it wouldnt bee too complicated to replicate.
– I chose to do the standard sizing, rather than customizing, to avoid possible delays and mistakes.
I ordered the dress in mid March and it arrived at my house yesterday, April 3rd. pretty quick shipping. It was packaged densly, in a medium-sized box. It was compacted in a plastic bag, and inside out to protect the outside layer of the dress, I imagine.
The fit – Its very ill-fitting, however, I knew this would need alterations. Its very big on the sides , as well as too long. These are common alterations, and so not a big deal. Also- I may take the one shoulder off and make it strapless. not sure about that yet.
The fabric is wonderful! VERY nicely made. the appliques are nicely sewn, and the fabric flowers are good quality as well. All of the seams, stitching, and petals on the skirt are in good condition. The bodice is nicely sewn with sewn in cups and double-lined. The tulle fabric is great quality! this is not the cheap tulle you see for decorations!
Here are pictures of first dress from the website (the picture inspiration, if you will), along with up close shots of the dress, and then finally me in the dress. Keep in mind, because it is too big, it just hangs on me and there is no structure, so it will be difficult to imagine the final result.
Let me know your thoughts, bees. especially about the alterations!
I’m doing something with my arms here that makes my back look TERRIBLE. please disregard that! but the lace up back is lovely!
There’s my review. I hope it helps someone. I bought this dress for around $240 TOTAL- including shipping.
