It looks like a gorgeous piece of costume jewelry. I think she would rock the hell out of it as a cocktail ring. However, as far as e-rings go, I think something smaller and more classic would suit her better.

NFLwidow:  I’ve read that it’s a radiant cut too, but I don’t buy it. it looks nothing like a radiant cut. I think ts a rose cut for sure

2ndchance:

Yeah, they probably meant the shape was like a radiant. Silly journalists need to fact check. We Bees would’ve caught that.

gingerbee88:  here is a pic stitch I put together. The media keeps saying its a radiant cut, but someone doesn’t know their diamonds lol! The top three pics are ROSE cut (well, the top left is Jen’s ring, which I’m assuming is rose cut). The bottom 2 are radiant. They look NOTHING like a rose cut! Regardless, I’d have to see her ring in person to say how I really feel about it. In pics though, I agree with others-it looks costumey, fake, and ugly. (I have seen a few rose cuts in person, and even though they weren’t as big as Jen’s, I still felt they looked costumey and fake. Not a lot of sparkle or depth to them. Meh-to each their own)

I find it so big it looks almost tacky? Even if it did cost a million dollars? I just don’t understand why anyone would actually want a ring that big. It Would be like wearing a golf ball on your hand all day.

NFLwidow:  lol! Yep. But that’s dumb to use a cut to describe a shape. They should have just said “rectangle” haha. Although, saying it’s a cushion cut would have been closer. Even emerald cut. Dumb dumb

I don’t mind the golf ball.. but if I wear a diamond that size and that carat, I’d better be able to signal an astronaut on mars with the sparkle, versus a dull hue.

gingerbee88:  Meh, personally I don’t care for it. It looks costumey and gaudy to me.

I agree that the rose cut, along with the steps, don’t “sparkle” so much as they “flash “. But I do love a good flash. Baguettes might be my favorite but a good rose cut is really something. I want one. Not this one, but I do want one.

🙂

eta: I’ll add that if it were mine, I’d probably have it sliced down the center to create two half moons (so to speak) and flank a nice oval or step cut ruby or sapphire with them. Or slice the two ends for that and have the remaining center recut. There, I said it. Y’all can flame me now.

I’ve seen some really nice, clear, but still large rose cuts out there. Hers isn’t one of them.

Hers looks like cloudy quartz and I’ve never seen it looking lively. Maybe it has strong blue fluorescence? That could explain the moonstone look it has.
