I am wearing Jenny Packham’s Willow for my wedding. I love the dress but so far, I’m having trouble with my fittings. I bought a size 8 and am having it tailored down to about a 6. The problem is that it is making me look very thick waisted for some reason, even though I have a normal sized waist! I am a 34 c, so maybe that is adding to the problem as most brides I’ve seen wear this dress have a smaller bust.
I’m hoping to find some shapewear that can nip me in in the middle. Anyone know what shapewear would work with the low sheer back? Or, can anyone recommend an alteration method that worked for them? Any guidance would be much appreciated!

Well that seems to ba an issue most brides seem to have with the Jenny Packham (and other brands like Claire Pettibone) that these sheath styles have no structure or boning like most other wedding gowns.
It’s not really something you can fix in alterations because the dress was not designed to be very structured. I would go somewhere like Dillard’s and find some good shapewear the only issue is the Willow’s low back. You need to find a bustier/slip with a low back.
You also might have some issues with the Willow being on the thinner side that bulkier undergarments might show through or look lumpy.

If youre looking for just the waist/tummy/lovehandles sucked in, I LOVE Yummy by Heather Thompson shape wear thong. It’s just a tight band right where you need it.

Sorry I have no advice, but please post with an update when you figure this out! Willow is my dream dress, except for the fact that it’s so unstructured!
