My fiance and I are planning a small, casual beach ceremony in Asbury Park, and then a reception at a near by restaurant next September 2015. I was curious if anyone can recommend a rental company for the chair rental/set up/removal. Also, what is with those those beach wedding arch/alter things? Every one I’m coming across is awful tacky and not work the $200 plus for rental. I am also having trouble finding more information on the citys beach permit/fee/application process. There website seems to be under construction! Anyone know the drill?? Any suggestions or past experiences would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks ladies!!

Not sure where your getting married but many require you to have a permit to use their beach for a wedding. I was going to have a beach wedding in spring lake but went a different direction because of all the limitations. Many beaches do NOT allow any chair set up etc. so make sure you call the townships to verify they allow that before you go booking etc. Spring lake you just have your party show up, no chair or arches allowed. Belmar you need to pay for a permit, you may use chairs and aches but you only have a half hour to remove everything from the beach you also need to pay for beach access for each guest. Make sure you have a back up plan if its pouring rain especially in September. Belmar also has a gazebo againt the lake it’s actually really pretty That you can rent/permit.
Ultimately we went a different route because it wasn’t worth renting $500 in chairs plus $200 for an arch and then flowers on top of that since if it rained we were out all of that money and we would have to pay our venue an additional $500 to host the ceremony. It did ending up raining on our wedding day and we were both thankful that we had a church wedding instead.
