I recently read something about the name Jessica Simpson has reportedly chosen for her new baby. It is Maxwell.
My first reaction was “Isn’t she having a girl?” Yes, she is having a girl and that little girl will be named Maxwell Johnson(assuming we can believe the tabloids). I’ve not seen anything about a middle name.
What do you Bees think of the name Maxwell for a girl? I think Maxi would be a cute nickname, but I can only imagine the maxi-pad jokes she’d have to endure.

Hate it. And i totally dont think its true. She would be more the type to give her a very girly name.

@Neva: I can’t stand all of these new names people are coming out with!

Personally – I’m not a huge fan. I think it sounds like a boys name and Maxi is not such a cute nickname, IMO.
I’d have gone with a Maxine or something if she wanted to go with something similar.

Whatn is Ashlee’s boys name? Somehow I think Maxwell is kinda close to her sister’s kids name.

Hate it, they’ve shown pictures of her with a little M pendant around her neck- I think it screams BOY! Nothing girly at all

I think of a maxi pad or something. Eh. Not a fan for a girl.

I hate it too. I don’t like the name for a boy or a girl, but I really dislike it for a girl. And I am a huge fan of unisex names, but this is just odd.

I have a hard time believing this…but then again, it’s Hollywood. I am a fan of using mixed-gendered names, but Maxwell isn’t one of them for me…I really don’t like it.

I swear these people (famous) are in a huge competition for the most horribly named children. I am very disappointed in her!

I actually don’t love it, and I’m usually a fan of mixed-gender names. One of our favorite names for a girl is Maxine and I like that a lot more. I think Max is cute for a girl.

Not a fan of masculine surname choices for girls, just saying. Can’t a celebrity choose a normal name for once?
