Possibly a dumb question, but how does it work? Does it use vibration like an Ultra Sonic? I was thinking about possibly getting an ultra sonic but I have a pave band, and apparently ultra sonic + pave = stones falling out, and I’d like to avoid that. Haha.

Your rings are SOOOO pretty, btw! I love the look of a plain band paired with a band with stones!

I’ve said it before J, but your ring set is gorgeous. Love that stone! I love the idea of doing it yourself – I may have to invest in one at some point, because the only downside to the channel set of the two bands I have is that they get dirty QUICK.

@jholler25: I get that! My current distraction is old time ER episodes. I need a new one.

@jholler25: I’d never seen your rings before Holler!! Absolutely gorgeous, by the way. My finger would about fall off with the size of that diamond!! πŸ˜‰

I may have to look into this. I’m tired of having to go to the jewelers to get it cleaned, and I have one of the sonic cleaners from Brookstone but it is el-stinko. Plus my bands are pave so it makes me nervous.

PS: What better to do at 4:30AM on an insomnia night than look at your rings! :))))

Thank you so much for posting this!  I found out that Tiffany’s also uses steaming as part of their cleaning process, and my rings always look the best fresh from the store cleaning… But I really want to be able to do it at home and not make the drive/take the time.

I read about the steam machines on amazon and one user suggested that you can even use the steamer on an espresso machine!

So again, really great share!  Thanks πŸ™‚

@jholler25:  Your posting helped a TON!!  I ended up looking the jewlery jet up on Amazon, and it got excellent reviews. Then one reviewer said that it was just like their espresso machine and suggested rather than paying $100+, to just get a $40 espresso machine.  So I got the Mr. Coffee one and you know what, PERFECT!  You are 100% right, the steam cleans it EXACTLY like when I take it to the store.  So that’s the secret of the store cleanings STEAM!  … and, after a bit of arm twisting and asking several of the cs reps at our local Tiffany store, one of them actually let the cat out of the bag.  She confirmed that “part” of their cleaning process is steaming, as it really gets the dirt and film off.  Haha!  That’s what they do πŸ™‚

THANKS SOOOOOOOOOOO much.  I am going to have to keep sharing about this! πŸ™‚
