My 10k white gold engagement ring just came in the mail and is currently set with CZ stones. The CZ is beautiful, but I am purchasing moissanite to swap it out with as a personal preference.
I have a list of about 12 local jewelers I plan on calling to see if they are willing to work with the moissy… I have read threads on WB and other forums about this being a big issue and jewelers being hesitant and refusing to do the work. The threads I’ve found are 3+ years old though, so I’m wondering if anyone has had more recent experiences they can share? Maybe this won’t be as big of a problem as I’m anticipating?

ETA: there is no poll! WB added it automatically and I have tried to delete it several times 🙁 I can’t edit the post at all, it seems…

My belief is that major chain stores like Zales, Kay, Jared and those type won’t do it but if you go to a more individual type jewelry store, they may do it. Best of luck.

I had a local jeweler set a moissanite for me so your better off contacting brick and mortar stores instead of large chains

Try googling your town + moissanite. I found a local jeweler who was happy to work with moissanite (the search actually turned up a post on their facebook page talking about moissanite) and they are able to order in both unenhanced and forever brilliant for me to compare. I’m hoping to have them custom make me a moissanite solitaire ring and I’m really happy I’ll be able to see the stone in person before committing instead of having ot order online.

Kay/Jared set my moissanite.

In my experience, any private, independant jeweller will do it, but box stores will not.
